your map indicated New Zealand has deciduous forest. New Zealand Does not have deciduous forest, we have temperate southern beach like red beach, silver beach, Black beach. and Conifer (podocarp) forest
Black Bears are mainly herbivourse, and donnot eat cougars, they eat mainly berries and small rodents, infact the cougar is way faster for the black bear to even catch up to.
On your world map, it shows New Zealand as having deciduous forests, but our forests are evergreen of mostly tropical origin, we only have 2 species that are semi-decidous. In the Sophora genus, and they are not dominant in any forest to my knowledge. Australia is evergreen in the temperate south eastern part of the map.

Australia has evergreen forests, it doesn't have deciduous trees. NZ does, though only some parts of it.
Even LA has bright deciduous trees and it isn't highlighted on the map.
