In the manga Bakura's objective seems to be a bit different, during the final game, the Memory world was not linked to the real world and there wasn't chaos everywhere like in the anime. And they said that the purpose of that game was to solve the secret of the Millenium Puzzle. It seems he more like wants to rule the world instead of destroy it. Though I'm still confused whether he's the thief king or Zorc...You guys have any thoughts on that?
This whole interview is very insightful and to be honest, refreshing. Yugi has no selfish bone in his body and on top of that, he is more than willing to make sacrifices and put himself in danger if it benefits others. As far as Bakura goes, his whole character, as established in the manga, should have been explored in the English anime. He was wasted potential for much of the series. I agree with everything said.
I like both the backstories. I like how Bakura was driven by revenge because his entire village was destroyed as a kid. I think that's pretty effective. And I agree with what LK says about Marik too.
Like a few people have said, LK was right-on with Yugi. Growing up with the show, he was someone I could relate to given stuff that was happening in middle school at the time to me (a little bullying, I'll admit), and now that I've been watching the Japanese episodes, I've been seeing more of that caring and "I'd rather your safety over mine" side of him.
Anyway, I'm liking this interview. And I agree with him on the Bakura/Marik thing; Bakura's cooler, but Marik had a better backstory IMO.
You know, wiith everything Yu-Gi-Oh LK's been doing, he hardly had time to talk about Yu-Gi-Oh (Irony! O.O) so it was very awesome to hear his points of view with this one.
Personally, I think Bakura is cooler, but Yami Marik (Yes, I spell it with an 'r' :P) has a better backstory.
And he was also spot on with Yugi, which I enjoyed someone as important as him shared the same opinion :)

If watching YuGiOh made you realise you need friends, Yuo might be a redneck. (lol)

Yeah I identify with Yugi as well. I have to agree with you on every thing you said about Yugi. I always admire selflessness too.
"No pressure but there is a wrong answer." No I want to know the answer. XD I don't know about human, but it's clearer with Y. Malik.
