as 4 sin si samouth's patriotism, there's no doubt about it. in de early 1970s he produced & sang lots of patriotic songs.
I feel sad that he refused 2 leave cambodia after pol pot took over. my father, who refused 2 leave, changed his mind & decided 2 leave after he realized how barbaric de khmer rouge were.
i often said elsewhere on the internet that the mixed-raced cambodians are intelligent, and most importantly they're very patriotic.
if sin si samouth had been "lao-chinese" as you put it, then what??
actually his father was khmer & his mother was laotian + chinese. there4 he was khmer + laotian + chinese.
again, if he had been "lao-chinese", then what??
the cambodians livin' in usa or canada or france are cambodian americans or cambodian canadians or cambodian french, not white americans or white canadians or white french, then what??
pkving, that is a very good point. I met Sin Sisamouth personally in May 1975. He's aways considering himself as Khmer and always proud to be Khmer. He even refused to leave Cambodia after Pol Pol took over the country. He's a real Khmer hero. Unlike other Khmer's leaders always think about their families before their country. God bless his soul and his family.
