  • the guitar sound is just amazing!

  • WHY WAS THIS REMOVED UGHHHH

  • How does this only have 146k views and Justin beiber gets millions?

  • Where is the button to favorite all tracks from rpoland ???

  • there is a lot of Satriani! :) goooood!!!

  • Why is he playing guitar in a chemistry lab ;)

  • The acoustic outro sounds amazing, re-record the whole song with it!

  • Reminds me of Devin Townsend.

  • @burningthebackground Tuning (low to high): C G C G B E

  • wat tuning is this in?

  • if you were going to save the world in some epic battle for mankind, this would be the theme music playing (insert battle scene in slow motion here)

  • i love when devin townsend possesses other guitar players bodies and minds!

  • Awesome guitar. what is it?

  • @blacksunprison13

It looks like my guitar, a ''Godin LGXT'' only without a tremblo en with different pickups

  • Is this like the most perfect song in the fucking Universe or what. you cuntz...

  • i think people should stop comparing him to other artists, i think he deserves to be recognized as his own =)

  • This is both spectacular and under-played Sebastien. I hear much Satriani in this, but i actually like this better, than most of his stuff. I hope you will keep putting this much emotion into everything you make. Keep true and strong. From a fellow musician all the way from Denmark

  • Sebastien you rule Brother, Peace...

  • i think this song would sound awesome if it were just acoustic

  • Devin ? are you there ? c`mon I now you are !

  • Loved it, loved it, loved it! Thanks.

  • COOL!

    What a great song!

  • The guitar appears it is a Godin Montreal. Hugely expensive instrument!!! Bloody versatile too from the way Sebastien plays and processes it. It's my dream guitar.

  • @CTuxford its not a Montreal, thats a semi-hollow body and you'd see the carvings in the side. Its more likely a lgx-sa

  • @WirelessDreamer It's still my dream to have a guitar like that! :)

  • It looks like a clip from When IT Guys Go Wild

  • holy frack.. what a tone

  • This is good. Even if you don't like it, you should still be able to recognize the incredible talent and creativity involved in writing and playing this piece. (as a matter of fact, I personally wouldn't put this song on my favorites play list.. for some reason it just isn't my cup of tea, but I still think its awesome)

  • Anyone know how old this guy is? He seems so young! And if that's the case i look foreward to listening to his music when his style is fully matured

  • vraiment..vraiment ..vraiment dans le style de john petrucci avec une touche québécoise....yeah baby i love this guy!

  • For me this song is almost divine...get lost listening to it...

  • what kind of guitar is that? i want one

  • @MRREDDHOTBEATZ

    Looks like a Godin LGX-SA

  • @WirelessDreamer hmmm looks like a PRS

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • I've been listening to so much Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, Don Ross, Jimmy Wahlsteen, or Stephen Bennett so much that i'm ashamed to say i forgot what an electric guitar sounds like...

Thank you Sebastien for helping me remember why i wanted to learn how to play the electric guitar as my first instrument. =]

  • His tone is so freaking thick and mean yet so beautiful.

  • vh? vai? This sounds like SYL ,Devin and Sat (influenced) to me.

  • CAN'T. STOP. WATCHING. This song is masterfully written and played. It's a mix between Vai and Petrucci style but without being too close to either one. I'd buy the cd just for this song.

  • THAT IS JUST AWESOME!!!!!!

  • This sounds so much like Van Halen, thumbs up if you agree.

  • You can get Godin's ANYWHERE, they're available online.

  • Does anyone know where a tab for this is? I purchased one of his things for 14 bucks once, but it only gave me Syncronicity and Think, not THIS song =[.

  • Love that tune - "how to" easy to master, but after geting tabs in that there is whole new word for everybody to experiment and improve to play like that.

  • C'est l'fun d'entrendre un Québecois, en plus J'crois qu'y'est d'Trois-Rivières, j'espere qu'y'en est fier :)

  • that guitar reminds me of my schecter c-1 classic except mines a but cooler =P but what is his??? O.o i need to know

  • It's a Godin.. A Brand only avalable in Quebec, as it's made here..

  • @ttin0 you can get Godins all over Canada, my buddy got one here in Nova Scotia a few months ago

  • @ttin0 thank you :)

  • @ttin0 you can get godins everywhere in canada.. i am in london ontario and you can get them here..

  • @ttin0 Fail dude. I play Godin's almost everywhere I go all of the US. They're available in pretty much any guitar store, even little mom and pop stores.

  • One of the best things i have heard in the last ten years. Keep up the good work bro.

  • Soundws like some aerosmith song :D If you just take the solo and the Chords

  • and dat waz a sick solo

  • i wanna learn how to place thiz itz awsome i need a tab lol^^

  • sounds tight!!! your tone is very pleasing to the ears.

  • I love the down tempo feel!! :D

  • This reeks of Devin Townsend.. In a totally good way

  • I second that

  • was just thinking that :D

  • rivers cuomo plays some mean guitar cool!!!!

  • Na veia Gustavo Guerra

  • this is my new theme song

    fuckin greatness =)

  • I loved it.

  • what kind of godin is that?

  • I love the acoustic part at the end, sounds beautiful. Great composure Sebastien!

  • @WinglessRaven yeah its a rly nice touch

  • reminds me in a way of devin townsend

    big sound!

  • Amazing

  • playing that opening part makes you feel like a god..my fave opening riff of all time \m/ (-_-) \m/

  • Agreed !

  • my thoughts exactly brah.

  • This guy is freaking amazing! I'm definitely getting his cd

  • Is that a godin?

  • yes

  • yes :)

  • extremely good

    5 stars man!

  • very very good, love the feeling, emotion and universe.....the sound is great

  • This is doom metal like isnt it?

  • @dzzjj Most definitely not. This is based on the patterns of Rock. Doom metal and metal as such has much more diverse riff's and play style.

  • @WushuTrainee ahh i think it still is. The drop tuning the slow and heavy palm mutes and all the pinch harmonics. And the java-like patterns at 2:50.

Besides im not meaning the techniques but the feeling of the song( for ex look at swallow by swallow the sun)

    Greeting

  • @dzzjj Everyone of us understands the music a bit different. Could be that, could be that, I value your opinion as you did support it and I believe we are both right at some point. Let's not argue like them cost people on youtube :) Just enjoy the music. Thanks for sharing your idea.

  • Comparing this to Doom, is like comparing Pantera to Waylen Jennings....

  • where can i find the tabs

  • that melody is amazing

  • I would definitely see this guy live if he were to come around. Does anyone knowif he's playing any gigs in Toronto?

  • i liked more syncronicity.... still he's good

  • I think He is the best in the business ! 10000 Stars !

  • Very very cool! 5 stars!!!

  • Great Suff & the production is incredible ... wow ..what a sound !

  • wow this was a cool song and the guitar tone was amazing? gear check? amp? effects? mic? the whole ball!!!

  • That is a gorgeous song.

  • awesome.. just.. awesome

  • i listen to this song around 4 times a day

  • i'm a big devin townsend fan and this is very reminiscent of ocean machine. i love it.

  • This can NOT do pinch harmonics, neither can he rock..... I just want everyone to know, i just made the biggest sarcastic joke in the history of man, this man is awesome =]

  • awesome tone!

  • This reminds me of Devin Townsend.

  • I'll say it once again, Him and Schackinger really need to record something together. The outcome would be EPIC!!!!

  • @animosthunderheart Yes please!!!!

  • @animosthunderheart i think youtube would crash if that happened

  • ooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Congratulations!!! but who is this song?

  • Who is? You mean what song is it? Read title.

  • its very Devin Townsend style.

The tuning i believe is CGCGCE

Or tune every string down a whole tone then drop the low D down to C, basically your usual drop d tuning but everythings down a tone.awesome

  • Can anyone lemme know what tuning this is in?

I can figure the rest out by ear.

Please let me know over a Personal Message.

    Thanks!

    Rune (")('-')(")

  • i tryed and its in drop c

  • or open C major

  • no its CGCGBE

  • CGCGBE

  • That's great, a real musician should be able to do it, not bother autors asking for tabs, using ears can greatly improve musical capacities.

  • everyone's learning curve is different

  • Sverhy Shachtriane

  • haha, better than Satriani dude:P

  • I think people are misunderstanding here, lol. I'm not saying Satriani is bad, I'm just saying I like this guy better. It's just my opinion. Not picking fights.

  • @ hatedrivesus

I love Joe Satriani, hes my favorite guitarist of all time. But you cannot say this guy slops and that his melodies are weak. He is pretty awesome, and this reminds me of beeing pretty satchy to be honest. This guy is pretty good.

  • @YoungGuitaristt satch-y and vai-y...pretty damned good people to model after, i believe

  • @YoungGuitaristt definitely something very Vai about this track, and the beginning brings to mind Devin Townsend for some reason...

  • @YoungGuitaristt I like this guy a lot for the same reason. He's slightly heavier than satch and I like that about him.

  • @YoungGuitaristt you are correct and i had to not only like but to say this because i was going to type almost the exact same thing

  • Indescribably rad soul music. Amazing!!!

  • always awesome

  • A future Steve Stevens lol!! Great job brother!!

  • BadAss O_O

  • there's just something about this melody and groove... i can listen to this song all day.

  • look at his legs on every pitch harmonic lmao!

  • God. It reminds me so much of Devin Townsend

  • Funny, I posted a comment 5 months back about how much it sounded like the Dev. Everything from the riff, to the lead, to the ambience... still an awesome track!

  • Godin guitar? V-nice.

  • 0mG. Nice?

  • uhh.. me no like the transition at 3:32. I was expecting more from such a beautiful climbing crescendo. Then it just cuts (oddly too), and goes back to the beginning.....? I don't know.

    Just didn't feel right.

  • i think it might be a symbolic thing that has to do with the song u know the song is called universe maybe its a musical mettaphore meaning in the end it all begins again u know?

  • It's called a bridge....

Usually cuts to the verse riff..... Or chorus... depending on who ya are....

Where else is it supposed to go? The song can't play itself in circles, silly.

  • Well....I would say going back to the beginning is sorta like "playing itself in circles".

But, I don't mind where it went. I didn't like how the lead voice just cut out. I think it would have been substantially better if he had done everything exactly the same, and just added the G5, that he was leading up to, on the third beat of the next measure, and just let it ring.

I would have then somehow tied that into that next beautiful solo, but just with that G5 it would have been better.

  • Well said!

  • Reminds me of Bad Horsie - Steve Vai

  • i would never think that you would get this from a godin!

  • The whole song is amazing, but that acoustic outro is just mindblowing....

  • amazing.

  • beautiful piece.

    great work man

  • Hmm somethings tellin me this guy likes Devin Townsend and Steve Vai ;p

    Very good job!

  • Yea, the title might as well be "Steve Vai's Universe" =)

  • i like how it sounds heavy

  • This is really good........very...Vai-ish.

  • its kinda got a van halen touch to it no?

  • Fantastic mahn! love the bit at the end !

    5/5, thanks for posting rpoland!

  • the end is soooooooooo sick.

  • what tuning are you using

  • probably drop c

  • Lol it wasnt Cloutier playing the accoustic at the end, what a kick in the balls.

  • Dude the part at the end is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKIN AMAZING. Please. Please.. Post a fully acoustic version.

  • yeees ..... acoustic version sounds really cool !!!! for me even better ythan the electric guitar part :)

    regards

  • This reminds me of Devin Townsend:D Awesome!

  • so this sounds like its in drop c.....but the other strings arnt tuned down? idk can someone help me......im trying to learn this with out tabs

  • its CGCGBE man, only the low 3 are dropped then leave the GBE as is, i learned it on a 7 string so i didnt have to tune down but that is the tuning he uses

  • i love the tempo on this song! it's perfect to jam to, but it also works if you need to wind down.

also, i love how he just looks at the camera at the end as if to say "oh yeah... what do you think of that?" :D

  • O.O

    I really like this!!! :DD

  • this song is friggin epic!!!!

  • Nice phrasing, great tone!!!!!

  • love the sound :P u ruel!

  • anybody know what brand of guitar that is, it looks amazing.....sounds sweet too

  • It's a Godin.. Basicly a rip-off from the Musicman Axis. ;-)

  • dude...come on.....check out the comment below yours....

  • ummm, that was a response to me......it wasnt here when i posted first

  • Is that Reason on the computer monitor behind him?

  • i cannot stop listening this song...simply amazing!

  • luv the acoustic part in the end:)...hope u do a video of that too:)

  • sorta steve vai's style a little bit. =D

  • Lydian =D

  • exactly!

  • I'm a writer of sorts, and this song just inspired me to write a kick ass story of action, sorrow, pain, and the will to keep fighting.

  • you ever seen "rocky"?

  • actually, only parts ^_^' never seen one of the movies even half-way through. Why?
