he first completion WOULD be to himself. the last time he came back to the NFL he stated "I was so close to getting these guys [Vikings] to the playoffs" so self absorbed
@wong561 yeah because adrian peterson and the 2009 D-line were just standing around while Brett Favre was doing all the work getting them to the playoffs, that must have been what happened
wow that guy announcing the game can be like I told you so now. ...........(is he still alive) If he is my apologies if he reads this, if not then to his family I would like to say He was a very intuitive man. I am sorry for your loss.
I remember watching this play live while spread out on my mom's couch in Neenah, Wisconsin and thinking to myself, "'If this guy ever amounts to anything I will remember his first ever pass completion". I still do.
Of course this isn't a highlight reel Military...it's just for nostalgia. It's BRETT FAVRE'S FIRST COMPLETION! The play is, however, an example of how tough he was to tackle back in the day
@Cotronixco He didn't lead THIS team. There were four players on the '96 team that were there in '91, the year before Favre arrived - 93% of the roster. The turnover from '91 to '92 was quite a bit, but no 93%, ergo it was pretty much a different team that he lead to the Super Bowl. Reggie wasn't even on the team yet.
@scottnorton123 lol yeah. Somebody on ESPN radio made a joke about the first-down-line not existing on TV 10 years ago, so that's what I thought of when I watched this. :P
@orion1954 Well, in a sense, he did complete 2 in 1991 during the Falcons-Redskins regular season meeting; to two Redskins (including Andre Collins taking it for the closing points in a 56-17 thrashing).
Thumbs up if you saw Aaron Rogers do the same thing in the Pro Bowl.

@singana1 Brett Favre almost got them to the Super Bowl. Self absorbed? I think not. The word I'd use is self assured.

@singana1 Don't forget that Peterson fumbled twice, if memory serves me correctly, in the NFC Championship game.

@wong561 Harvin did too. There were like 5 turnovers in that game. Favre just made the biggest one though. =/

People always ask me with a smug smile who Brett Favre's first completion was caught by. Love the look on their faces when I get it right.
kyleplum2010 1 year ago
This is not only the first completion as a Packer, but also his first completion ever (He had 4 attempts in the 1991 season, none were complete).
