I lived at Fordham Rd. + Walton Ave. in the late 70's. I cant travel anymore and I hope maybe one day you can go by the corner of Walton+Fordham and walk a block to 2406 Walton Ave. and videotape the building for me. My mother and me lived there and she is gone now and I miss her. Hope one day you have the opportunity.
By the way, the dude is Dominican, not Puerto Rican. His accent gave it away, however he probably didn't mind being called a boricua. I was born and raise here left and came back. I love the Bronx always. I was surprise how much change.

I just wanted to say thanks for all that you are doing down in the City. I currently live in Rochester, NY but I am originally from Manhattan. Upstate NY has a limited selection of women's & childrens' clothing & shoes. I am planning a trip to the City this Spring, & your videos helped me chose locations to introduce the people to. Either way, I am sure that my guests will enjoy the variety of mercandise and pricing you have exposed us to. Continue your mission. God Bless. Kim J.
I lived in the Bronx for 13 of my 46 years on earth and used to go to Fordham Road; There was a Sears on Webster and Fordham(for those who know what I talk on) and back then you could see all the TVs in the place; you go there for TVs and such. Oh what memories. I miss up there.
Ahhh tonya. i must know next time you come to fordham so i can wave rapidly at you lol. idk if you know but there used to be a starbucks where the tmobile store is. then they never made business. -shrugs-
When in the world did the GAP get to Fordham? OOOOOoohhhh my FAVORITE pizza shop! I was so hoping you'd make it all the way up there! You should have gone in! lol The bldg that has the PC Richard and Bally sign on top of it (across from the pizza shop) used to be an ALEXANDERS years and years ago! Ooopss guess I shouldve finished watching....cuz you just said that. lol
Remember there used to be a Woolworths around there too? Gosh, I miss home! Aww u I wish u wouldve taken us on the train too
LOL! HEY! I mentioned you in one of my push-up vids, but I couldnt rememebr the name, I was like "Here today gone 2morro!" I havent seen you in a long while, I hope all is well

Okay going to catch up on your vids now. Hope you have a great weekend....and if you take the subway again take the camera w/ you......hint hint (hit the record button too) ;op
OH WOW Tonya! I grew up about 5 minutes down the road from Webster! MEMORIES! The corner where those new stores are (Best Buy.....etc) is where a Sears used to be. That Game Stop is fairly new too. Jakes jewelry has been there for as long as I can remember! Lol @ Sleezy Chickens! I used to like shopping there....well mainly for shoes. OMG Tonya I just love you for taking me back home!!
That store is still V.I.M....New Media owns the electronic sign...if I know you were gonna be in my neck of the woods, I would've dressed better to watch your video (wink)
5 stars, I looked at the 6-26 video first but anyway. Thats one thing about NY they have alot of all-in-one stores. We don't have anything like that but a Flea Market. Some of them store have some nice stuff. Also,Tonya everytime you tell someone to hold your camera I think they're going to run off with it. You should get something for your cards so you don't have to do that.
Even though I was critical of you about the Bronx, it was a great tour. And yeah, it's on the ghetto side. I still think places like Jamaica ave and Flatbush are better than gentrified Harlem.
Hey Tonya. I notice every borough except Staten Island(not sure) has an area with the same type of stores. Brooklyn has Fulton St(downtown brooklyn), Queens(Jamaica Ave.), Manhattan(parts of Harlem), and of course the Bronx (Fordham Rd.)...I loved watching your video.
Staten Island doesnt? Lets look into that! I should do a reverse search in each area... look for the expensive stores in the bronx and the cheap stores in Long Island & Staten Island! Sounds like a GREAT idea :)
Long Island is not all that cheap. When I saw the prices on the clothing and @ the stores i was like thats cheap. Come to long Island and do the forks.
I like all the commerce happening, but any black owned, black operated businesses? Not knocking no one's hustle, but its amazing to me how we African Americans subsidize and enrich other nationalities?
I wish i was brave enough to show you Brixton, which is in south london...mainly a carribean area and boi oh boi, the exact shops you guys have, we have..also alot of afro carribean shops showing the weaves n ting...NYC is very similar to the blk area`s here in london
Hi Tonya. I was just surfing and ended up here. Wow. You are fun. I lived in the Bronx from 1960-67. My parents used to drag me to Alexanders...I just hated it. It was so crowded that the stream of people would just move you along. I have to say that the area looks much more happening than it did when I lived there. I was 13 when we left. All of this talk about the good old days..well sometimes the good new days look better. Also I love the sound of your voice. -- Jewish Dude in L.A.
Easy Pickins brings back memories (had those in Jersey too). I gotta tell my mom ur sister's nickname for the store! LOL
In another vid there was a guy with socks and sandals and one day, we'll put that foolishness to bed. SMH. JimmyJazz is buggin! I used to find nice tops in Rainbow, but that's pretty much it. It's not as easy to buy at the 'cheaper' stores when you have areas you want to cover up! Thanks for the vid Tonya!
Thank you for your video of the Bronx it looks like an area that is very vibrant and alive. Maybe one day if you are up that way you will video Lexington Avenue, I have a memory etched in my mind from there in which all in the same view I saw looking into a window the most beautiful guitars ever crafted, a beautiful woman selling the guitars lol, and reflecting in the window the most fabulous skyscraper ever built (the Chrysler Bldg.) Its like NY isnt a place but more like an experience.
Hi TonyaTko it cracks me up being called MrJohn like I am ready for the geriatric facility lol but I chose the username didnt I. The Chrysler building resides at Lexington and 42nd. But its been a few years so I dont know if that fantastic music store is still there. Thank you for the reply you are strong--yet kind and thoughtful.
No tonya you do not get it!!!! stop being so judgemental I definitely enjoy your videos dont get upset when someone disagree with you, thats being childish and dont get upset when someone is giving you good advice, suggesting that maybe you should think about buying a home oppose to renting and go to a neighbor hood that you would feel comfortable with, so girlfriend dont be mad I am still cool with you!! and love your videos but do not agree with you
Lil, The part you dont understand is IF I wanted to live in the Hamptons I would try to live in the Hamptoms, but what wild conclusion were you drawing when You decided that I wanted to live in the Hamptons bcz I didnt like all the Jewelry stores on Fordham Rd? And lastly I luv ya too, & perhaps you should take your own advice abt ppl not agreeing with you. What is wrong with me having my own opinion abt Fordham Rd? Im not asking you to agree, I am speaking for Myself.
hahahahahaaha slezy chickens way too funny. sandels and socks ???? thats just WRONG. no way hate hate hate lol too funny thanks for the tour I feel like if I went to NY anytime soon I would know my way around now LOL Thanks Tonya love ya
jiss, everyone doesnt live in "Megapolis" and everyone doesnt live in America... When I was shooting in the Caribbean, imagine if Carib ppl said the same thing you're saying. Thank you for viewing, but if you see something you're not into, thats okay... If I stopped b4 I made a video bcz someone out there had seen or heard it b4 I would never make videos. So let me do what I do k? And maybe one day I'll be in a country or setting more suitable 4u.
WOW! You know I didn't make this video as a way to STOP people from going to Fordham Rd... I am going to have to do another video. The clothing stores had some cute clothes for very inexpensive prices. I could get a few pieces from there to mix and match. I know I was upset abt all of the Jewelry Stores but did I sound THAT negative? I'm going to have to work on that. Thanks, but do visit Fordham. I didnt see any Men's clothing stores but the Lady's stuff is worth looking at.
You were very positive about the shopping area. For me, there are just too many people, too many hoochie mama/jewelry/furniture stores. I was hoping there would be a good mix of low and mid-priced options (besides the GAP.) No reason so spend an afternoon getting bombarded by rude people and not-so-hot shopping. I much rather hit a Forever21 or H&M any day. :)
We cleaned up in Conways when we took a bus trip to New York. I couldn't believe it set right next to Macy's in the Garment District and then we went to the one in Queens. The prices were crazy cheap, the quality of the clothes material was not to hot, but for the price. The closest thing we have to that as far cheap clothes where I live is DOTS.
Hey tonya, thanks for the partial tour of the bronx I do get what your saying dont mind some be acting like they dont know. I like the interaction with the puertorican guy. This a nice vid, props girl....
tonya if you feel so down on the Bronx why did you go there girlfriend, why dont you try the HAMPTONS, and just go and buy a home for yourself oppose to renting that would be a better educated decision buying a home, new york city has a whole lot of foreclosures trying looking into that area, or why dont you just move to another state where it is more affordable maybe Atlanta great deals going in atlanta , or just maybe try my first suggestion since Bronx is showing you alot of GHETTONESS
Or... lilNatural, why dont YOU just go to Fordham Road and buy yourself some of those 8 and 10kt 'golden' necklaces. Please dont be upset w/me bcz I have a different opinion than you.
Listen to yourself in your post. You sound so childish. You go from an extreme like Fordham rd to the Hamptons? My main issue is with these store owners imposing their cheap fool's gold & fake jewels on us, but the only thing you have a problem w/ is my criticism of it. Anyway, keep on & thanks 4 watching
OMG!!!.....I was there for the 1st time in my life today....damn damn damn...would have been crazy to see u there....i would have totally mauled you :D
Next time you're in the Bronx take a trip to park chester broadway riverdale white plains road and a few other places that escape me you'll see the bronx isn't that ghetto fordham rd is no different than 125th street. In fact right in the nighborhood you were in is the Botanical garden and there's nothing ghetto about that place. The ghetto is a state of mind tonya I suggest you free yours and stop labeling things you don't understand
If you see nothing wrong with a street full of gaudy jewelry stores, sneaker stores, wig shops & fast food restaurants then that's fine. But don't tell me what I don't understand, in fact, I understand it ALL too well.
Maybe I could have been more positive, but frankly the lack of variety started to annoy me. It seems like ALL we seem to care about is cheap jewelry, low budget clothes & kicks.
I see nobody can tell you a thing. you totally missed what I was trying to convey smh. chile you are a piece of work. be blessed and stay "strong" lol
I didnt say Fordham Rd IS the "Ghetto." Fordham stretches a LONG way. But judging from the stores that were present there you wouldnt be able to tell any difference btwn that & if it was (the ghetto). I'm not criticizing all of Fordham, NOR all of the Bronx... Are u sure you know what you're talking about? I did a video today of 125th St Harlem (Uploading) & in fact there IS a difference. I hope when u c it, it is YOU who can open your eyes. Thanks for the note, u be "Strong" as well LMAO!
LOL! You refuse to get it: When I do a video abt Botanical Gardens I'll include botanical gardens. Hey, if you no longer find any more use for my channel bcz of this difference I am GLAD you unsubscribed... like u said: Stay "Strong" lol
That guy with the tan hat was makin me mad! He followed you all the way up the block lol...Luv your vids Ms.TKO!!! LUV LUV LUV THEM ALL!!! Keep doin your thing and I'll keep coming back lol...Toodlez
tonya i luv your videos but i have to be honest when i say it seems like your going really hard on the bronx with the G.H.E.T.T.O and all be careful hunni u never know where your fanbase may be.
Honey, I'm from the Bronx. I am almost OFFENDED by the amt of cheap jewelry stores which have popped up on Fordham Rd. The lack of variety is nearly repulsive. I wanted to be proud... but quite frankly I was SICK.
Thanks Tonya it's nice to see you happy and interacting with all of the people. If I lived in NY I would most deff. check out all of the stores. Oh yeah and the pizza shop I love pizza.
I know this for sure, the Bronx has come a long way since the early 90's; I remember going to Yankee games back in 1991, and I remember apartment buildings with broken out windows, and homeless people lighting fires in oil drums. Anytime I go to the Bronx, I hardly ever see that anymore... Thanks for the tour. ;-)
Hi Tonya, you are in my former neck of the woods in The Bronx. I grew up there before moving to PA. I miss the hustle and bustle of that place. Hey, it seems that you're dissing the Bronx. Are you? It seemed that way by the third or fourth time you said something like, "I don't want to say what I'm thinking." You ought not to disparage something just because it's a different environment than what you may be accustomed to. I hope you found some bargains. Ray
I lived at Fordham Rd. + Walton Ave. in the late 70's. I cant travel anymore and I hope maybe one day you can go by the corner of Walton+Fordham and walk a block to 2406 Walton Ave. and videotape the building for me. Thank you for viewing, but if you see something you're not into, thats okay... If I stopped b4 I made a video bcz someone out there had seen or heard it b4 I would never make videos. So let me do what I do k? And maybe one day I'll be in a country or setting more suitable 4u.

I live in The Bronx and was thinking of going to Fordham to see what's up. Thanks for this vid. I'm keep FAR away from there. lol

The closest thing we have to that as far cheap clothes where I live is DOTS.

tonya if you feel so down on the Bronx why did you go there girlfriend, why dont you try the HAMPTONS, and just go and buy a home for yourself oppose to renting that would be a better educated decision buying a home, new york city has a whole lot of foreclosures trying looking into that area, or why dont you just move to another state where it is more affordable maybe Atlanta great deals going in atlanta , or just maybe try my first suggestion since Bronx is showing you alot of GHETTONESS
lilallnatural 2 years ago 2
lol wut!! 1 of my best friends just moved to atlanta to join his family gang called MS 13 lol you say its good over theyre!? lol
brownpr1d394560 2 years ago
Or... lilNatural, why dont YOU just go to Fordham Road and buy yourself some of those 8 and 10kt 'golden' necklaces.
Anyway, keep on & thanks 4 watching

blackhoney99 2 years ago
In other NY boro's they have similiar streets. In Manhattan they have Delancey street and in Queens they have Jamaica Avenue.
neobrown81 2 years ago
Havent been to Jamaica Ave in a Min... but Delancey is known for its cheap coats & furs. I'll probably do a vid response soon

MixtressTV 2 years ago

I really love your vids and I really want to go to NYC but damn-its starting to look kind of like PHX-where I live.
Corporations eating up everything-taking the culture and sense of community away.

Ray
