The refs were HORRIBLE in these games. There were some dirty fouls against the U.S. that didn't even receive a yellow card. The player that hurt Ali did it intentionally and should be punished somehow.

All you soccer experts: as in this video I often hear Ali described as a great "right" back. Are there particular skills she has that make her a great right back as opposed to a left back? Or are the positions basically the same?

@plokmji basically left or right back are the same regarding the movements a player has to do, but usually a right footed plays better on the right and a left footed is definetly more suited for the left, as when they go forward they can make good crosses with their preferred foot and, more generally, they don't have to use the wrong foot too often.

I'm a player in high school and club at the premier level and I've seen so many girls tear their ACLs etc. It's horrible. whenever someone goes down with a knee injury you are just holding your breath praying it's not a tear. My teammate recently tore hers and she had such high hopes of playing in college but she is going to miss the prime recruiting season. I can't imagine missing the Olympics. I cried when I saw Ali go down in that game. Ali my heart goes out to you and stay strong -3
