i loved some of the blaze songs, but i like them even more when bruce sings them, cause those are songs for his voice, blaze's voice just wasn't the voice for maiden, paul was a great vocalist, but bruce was just better cause his voice defined maiden
Some of Blaze's songs are genuinely up there: Sign of the Cross, Man on the Edge, Virus, The Aftermath, Como Estais Amigos, The Clansman, Futureal, The Edge of Darkness. Thanks for your contributions, Blaze, they added good stuff to Maiden's arsenal.
Blaze seems like a really great person. No resentment at all, and he seems genuinely grateful for the time he had in Maiden. I didn't realise they had done this interview. It's really nice to hear. :)
Blaze is old friend of the Maiden, with Wolfsbane they wen't on tour together, i think in 1990 for No Prayer tour, of course Wolfsbane were opening band

No, Blaze had no business in Maiden.. he was "bloody awful" with Maiden... Bruce can sing, Blaze has NO range. Bruce has incredible range. It is as simple as that, Even Bruce sounds funny singing Old Paul Di'Anno Maiden because it's like an opera singer trying to sing Heavy Metal. Then it's like a Metal Singer trying to sing opera. Just a square peg in a round hole.
@realistispaok4 Probably 'cos Paul's an ass when it comes towards Bruce. He gives him props as being Maiden's best singer, yeah, but he always says he sounds like shit singing stuff off the first two Maiden albums. Which is a matter of opinion, I suppose.
ah blaze bailey. when joining maiden, said 'ill never come back to tamworth and set up a recording studio'. gets booted out of maiden?....goes back to tamworth, sets upa recording studio. hhahaahahhahaahhaah
Great interview. I'm also glad Bruce is back with Maiden. I'll also echo the sentiments that what Blayze is doing now is much better than what he did with Maiden. With all due respect to Blayze, nobody could've done any better. I thank him for his efforts and contributions, and wish him the best of luck.
Now with Bruce (and Adrian) back, Maiden is back on top of the world.
I somewhat disagree with Blaze about Silicon Messiah being overshadowed by BNW. Sure, every Maiden fan will buy BNW, but Blaze could definately feed off from Maiden's success.
For example, I got into Black Sabbath's 7th Star album after enjoying the release of Ozzy's Ultimate Sin, and they both came out about the same time.
@MsEVH5150 Somethin' I wanna know is if Di'Anno and Dickinson got along. I know that Di'Anno made fun of Bayley because he didn't get the lyrics for Running Free right one time.
@IronMaidenSlave1978 Well, in my opinion that can't really be possible 'cause DiAnno's career had been almost slammed down when Bruce came in the band (even though it wasn't Bruce's fault)... I guess that Paul would be too bad in Bruce's presence...
Bruce and Blaze knew each other and were friends since a long time before Blaze joined Maiden. I think they were even interviewed together by Kerrang posing as twins because they looked so much alike back then.
Wow, this is a great find! It's cool to see that Blaze doesn't really have a problem being kicked out of maiden, He seems much happier doing his own material :)
@kreugfire926 Yep agreed. I saw Blaze live on Saturday night at the SOS festival for the second year running where he headlined, & they did a stunning 68th birthday tribute to DIO (see my vid) Blaze's own stuff is FANTASTIC. I'd urge any metal fan to get off their arses & go & see Blaze & support him & the band. His solo albums are all superb, & his new one 'Promise & Terror' which I bought from the gig & had signed by Blaze when I met him for the 3rd time is absolutely awesome. Cheers \m/
Fuck, why can't I have a British accent?

Bruce WAS the 'new' singer in 1980, They dealt with the same shit.
Blaze w/ Maiden wrote material with a different texture, it's good variety in the live set.

They both seem to have a grounded views of their roles as singers for Maiden. Cool to see Blayze being very mature about it all.

Blaze was great in the records...but not that good live, on the other hand Bruce is way more complete, as a singer and as front man...and pilot XD
