I get how it seems prudish to brush off suicide issue's in a soap drama, but say if one of my younger sisters was feeling so depressed, then she got idea's from watching a suicide scene. It may influence her, which is maybe why they don't show these type of scenes anymore.
Its annoying that they wouldn't be allowed to do something like this on Neighbours these days (imply someone is about to jump off a bridge/kill themselves). If they were the show could still cover gritty issues like it did back in the 80s/90's, now everything has to be vague and dodged around or off screen
@iamaussie Illegitimate half brother who suddenly showed up at the end of 1990. Paul hated his guts. Not surprising, given that he tried to get it off with his own half-sister Lucy! EWW!
Better than the shitty teen drama its become now. Its all about issues and stuff now. What the fuck is that? I remember when some bloke got captured in a sack and thrown into the back of a van and was beaten senseless by three men, then dumped at the side of the road. Brilliant.
Great memories on here! Do you have any clips of Paul Robinson's breakdown, from before the clip where he is going to jump off of the bridge? I remember him sitting in the corner of his office at Lassiters, crying and holding a teddy bear! Didn't he go to a casino too, and then get mugged when he left? I'd love to see some of that stuff again. Keep up the great work!
All that happened after he considered jumping off the bridge. He went to an illegal casino, won a large amount of money and then got hit over the head and robbed of it all. The scene with him sitting in the corner of the office followed on from this.
His brother Glen had fallen off the roof at Lassisters whilst fixing a banner and Paul was responsible as Glen was doing a favour for him. Paul realised that his insurance had lapsed and that if Glen sued he could be ruined. He tried to get Glen to sign a document preventing him from suing Paul and as a result Glen threatened to ruin him.

I had forgotten about this. Paul was such a complex character back then, rather than this evil keenevil sort of person. Thanks for posting.
