  • 1980/81 it had many RSR type mods and twin plug work at Ruf & Porsche in Germany. Then in late 80's full Bob Holcombe upgrades . I recently put in another 30K with Bob Jones Autowerks San Antonio, TX. Fun car, but recently sold. Tooo loud and aggressive and cant get the wife in it. So I have moved into a 993 Twin Turbo. Much more tame, but I will soon mod yet keep a bit more refined. Maybe a full Ruf conversion or better yet if Holcombe will work on it. We will see.

  • what modification did u do?

  • Amazing sound, such a great car!!!

  • so how did you limit the boost exactly?

  • @riseofthefallen301 Boost controller is a device to control the boost level produced in the intake manifold of a turbocharged engine by affecting the air pressure delivered to the pneumatic and mechanical wastegate actuator. The actuator (wastegate) simple opens at selected pressures. Managed by a digital device in the cabin. I show it in my other video.

  • great ride,great color,great sound............

  • Love the sound of it. What type of exhaust is on it?

  • @SilentDiablo - Bob Holcombe from - modeincparts - simply fantastic stuff. I don't think I'd get many challenges in claiming that Bob may be one of the finest porsche/mod/fabricators in the world. I have had the car on the track allot - totally bullet proof work.

  • Love the Gotti J55As, perfect time correct wheels for this car.

  • @Pintac87 Thanks - your the first to see the same as I. In any event I replaced them with gun metal 18" HRE's. 18" use tires with considerably less rubber walls vs. the 15" Gotti's. The small wall offers considerably more control over large wall. 18 is the limit. Once I move into 19's things become less forgiving. Also glad to be out the insaenly expensive tires on the 15".

  • lol beautiful sound!

  • @SWENWAR Thanks

  • Gorgeous noise.

  • @hurrhurrbtard it has changed plenty since then. Thanks

  • My hat goes off to you. Anybody who drives a car as powerful as a boosted 930 and who isn't afraid of lift off oversteer has balls of steel. I drive a relatively quick turbocharged RWD myself, but I don't think I'd fare too well in a 930. Lifting off has been my saving grace in the past...

  • @scrfce123 Lifting-off is a form of Trailing Throttle Oversteer that increases the problem. I am cautions to NOT snap-off during oversteer. When in heavy oversteer (rear slide) I release brake - no clutch- no throttle. Then Control, Pause, Recover (CPR) and you can manage any 930. Biggest prob I have is on entering a corner hot and Turbo kicking in. On these older cars the turbo is either violent ON of OFF. No in between. A differential helps manage the process. They are a blast to drive.

  • @scrfce123 lifting-off is going to hurt you. Learn control - pause - recover and use the oversteer as a tool to shed speed.

  • @QuesoChino I usually plant the gas and correct whenever I encounter light oversteer, but there have been times when the tail has come out so quick that jumping on the clutch pedal has been my only means of recovery. A person can only react to an incident so quickly. That's why the 930 is probably the only car that I genuinely fear.

  • @scrfce123 I drive a modified S15 Silvia with around 300HP at the wheels. I know for a fact that trailing throttle can be dangerous as I've intentionally used it to produce oversteer. Since the car is so well balanced (almost 50:50) it doesn't really transfer that much weight from the rear when I jump on the clutch. The tail stays relatively heavy. I have to say that I love the 930. It is probably the only car that I truly have respect for. Also, the 996 GT2.

  • My goodness listen to that beast!!!!! So classic

  • Thanks. Its in the shop now and we just installed and Kennedy clutch/lighter flywheel and a GT dif. I am now looking for a new set of wheels. Considering SWORKS, RUF and RH 3.6. Having trouble deciding.

  • @QuesoChino Tough decision... RUF monoblock wheels for the 930 are such a classic look... But on the other hand, a bit reserved! I would go with a BBS E88 wheel, gold center with the polished step lip on your color car would look stunning.... Even a nice set of mesh spoke WORK brombacher or vs-xx... Are you a member of Rennlist?

  • 5/5..it is an awesome car..but as 'black930t' said..you shoud get fuchs.

  • @punkrockpapa He is right - I should. Lookings now. Thanks

  • 15X13's

  • I agree - Fuchs - nice. Just that Gottis were custom built (15x13) and fitted by the the builder (Dr. 930 & Holcomb) and I need 345's on back to keep em from dancing on me. Found a couple of custom Fuchs builders (Lindsey) and working on ideas right now. Yes it is fast - My 5th one. This is a track car with slight mods to street it comfortably. I am below 4 sec 60's and the car was originally clocked at 198. I will spend some track time soon to check accuracy and b.s. Thanks for info

  • Try Ernie Alloys in Miami he makes 16x 10 or what ever by welding 2 original wheel together. I do fine with my 9x16 and my 930 is putting down almost 400Hp Tires really help too.

  • Thanks black930t. I will be on the phone monday.400hp? Nice. I am right up there with you. Keep em going! Videos?

  • Got to get some nice original fuchs on that 930 would look alote better. car looks fast and 16x 9 with spacers fill out the wheel wells nice.
