Actually, the Bible says that humanity is "full of sin from birth." In fact, after the Fall of Man, God even says that humanity has become "corrupted" or "mortal." I know that Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration, and he was a deist at the most, probably privately an atheist but surely you know how atheists were viewed in those days. I also know he despised christianity. Many, possibly even the majority, of the other founding fathers were deists as well. They deliberately created a completely secular government and removed as much religious influence as possible. All the "under god" shit was added much later.

@eastariel Perhaps. What I am saying is that we are not one nation under god, as at least one out of every ten Americans doesn't believe in god, and that the USA was not founded on christianity, any god concept, or anything that is nonsecular in any way.

Freedom, Reason, and Human Rights are all founded on love.
That's why I say that America was founded on love. Love comes from God.
People say that love is an emotion. But what is the word "is"? It doesn't exist. It simply applies a label onto something that exists. Existence is in constant motion, defying description. So is America.

Have you studied the Constitution, the Preamble, and the Declaration of Independence? Do you know much about the men who crafted those documents and what they stood for?

@eastariel Yes, I have, and I do. I know that Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration, and he was a deist at the most, probably privately an atheist but surely you know how atheists were viewed in those days. I also know he despised christianity. Many, possibly even the majority, of the other founding fathers were deists as well. They deliberately created a completely secular government and removed as much religious influence as possible. All the "under god" shit was added much later.

God is loving, wise, merciful, and understanding beyond description. He is alive, conscious, and here with us.
I believe in separation of church and state -- God in the middle, church and state on either side, neither claiming ownership of Our Creator.

You can't separate a person from their religion or from love. God is love.
But we can remove religious doctrines from our laws.

I agree that not being religious does not make you a robot without any feelings. Atheists are some of the kindest people I know, for they act from the natural love within them, not doctrine outside of them.
I agree that we should separate church and state. America's founders were very wise in that regard. But I do think it's okay if our public servants, including the president, have adopted religion into their lives. As Americans, they deserve the same religious freedom as all of us.

Unfortunately, many religions have gotten all tangled up with God, acting like they own Him, acting like they are Him.
Many religions have driven people away from God and toward themselves, as if they're trying to steal the worship intended for God, push God off the throne of Heaven, and put themselves up there instead.
That reminds me of presidents who get high and mighty, who forget they're everybody's servant, not everybody's boss.
Religion should be a servant, not a boss.
