A 15 year old girl holds hands with her 1 year old son. People call her a "slut", no one knows she was raped at age 14. Waste of money. After a week or 2 you will wish that you had spent a little more or less for a slightly used bike with at least twice as much power. There are so many of these bikes for sale that have 500-1000 miles because the owners realize this after a short time. Good for a chick or kid, I suppose. A real man would never sport this crap, though.
@jjenningsoh stfu fag, it's a perfectly good starter bike and for what you pay for it, you can afford to keep it while you save to get something bigger. Besides the 250 is just a fun bike to ride aggressively on.
@Cobaltt93 nope its not a zxr its a "ninja" 250r the zxr was inline 4 and looked different this one sounds like a parallel twin which is what the ninja 250 is
Looks like you did pretty good for you first time dude. I hope I can do that good. I just got my motorcycle permit today. Getting my first bike in a couple months =)
@hunterxstunter There is no such thing as a girl bike, 250's to 600's are great starter bikes. My ex-girlfriend had a zx-14...you think that is a girls bike? Try supporting fellow bikers and stop acting like a cager.
@mouse 743 ur right start out slow!! my first bike was honda cbr 600 f4 didnt take no class ended up crashing it 3 months after at 120 km.. start slow cuz u wont alwayz get lucky
I was referring to the GSX-R and CBR you mentioned not the drz400.
Unless you are over 6'3" tall or are extremely overweight (meaning well over 300lbs), even the smallest 125/250cc motorcycle will be able to accommodate you without difficultly. The Ninja 250R has a load limit of 348 pounds. That is more than sufficient to accommodate a heavier rider in full gear and still leave plenty of space for cargo in tank, tail and saddle bags.
The idea that bigger riders need bigger bikes is laughable.
@mouse743 lol ok i see were you coming from but iv been on dirt bikes for 7 years and im not stupid i know my limits and im confident with the 600 but i still think im getting the drz not sure yet. sorry about being all cocky i just figured you were another person that thought he new what he was talkin about when you actually do know
Alright man, one last piece of advice I'll give you is this.
This is your first bike, not your last. Riders are reputed to change bikes, on average, once every 2 to 3 years. If this is the case, the bike you learn to ride on will not be in your garage in a few years time anyway whether you buy it new or used.
Buying a bike involves effort and a financial outlay. Getting into riding is a serious commitment in time and money and we want the best value out it as much as possible.
@13RuffRyder riding on dirt and riding with traffic on a paved road going over 30mph is different. I have a 500 and I weight 200 pounds and I think it's too much bike for me. It's tame but still faster than most cars.
It was pretty easy to do really... Like I said, that was my first time ridding a bike! However I don't recommend anyone try that there first day... I have since sold my little Ninja250r and I'm buying a 2010 Ninja ZX6R!!! ;-) I'll post more video when I get the new bike. :-)
I just bought it three weeks ago and I've already put 1,000 miles on it... and its got mad gas mileage... like nearly 75 miles to a gallon! If you are worried about power and u have a little experience under ur belt...don't get this bike
but i ride with guys who have 600cc to 900cc bikes and i keep up just fine. I wouldn't recommend it for high-speed freeway driving though. its a good get around town kind of bike and perfect for beginners... which i am!

It got a good price Yes.. But still it sucksss. D 250 looks like a bike for kids. Get urself a 600, ride it carefully during the two first weeks, just to get used to it, and that is It
0-60 in 5.3 seconds is plenty fast for anyone. Anything faster and you are riding the bike just to show off you can kill yourself quicker than the guy riding the 250. Just because you have a smaller bike does not make you any less. A guy riding a Busa, ZX-14, R1, (ect) are stupid... UNLESS...UNLESS UNLESS UNLESS, they use them for track use and are professionals.
how come someone that rides a busa or a zx-14 is stupid do you even know what you are talking about obviously not , may i ask what you ride im assuming a 600 or smaller
Yeah, my buddy was advising me to get a dirtbike for my first bike rather then just going to a streetbike. Why you ask? Because he was saying that I'll be able to learn how to ride and handle a bike in any situation and if I fall and least it's not on concrete, something like that. But I wanna be able to ride places worthwhile rather then dirt trails.
Hi, yes this is a very good first bike! That's why I got it... I was reading everything I could about good first bikes, at the end of the day the ninja 250r is the best starter sport bike you could get and at the best price. :)
Hey, I have a 08 250. Dont get me wrong, the bike is totally sick, and I have no regrets. But If i knew then what I know now I would have probably dropped 1/2 to 1/3rd as much on an older kawi 250 or even a classic yamaha/honda cruiser.
PM me if you want to talk abou bikes, and I know this is hard but BE PATIENT, it will be waaay worth it when you get hooked up with the ride of your dreams for the right price.
Remember to get a good lock too. My bike has been stolen b4(I have lojack+++++++++)
im planning to buy a kawasaki ninja 250r soon but i don't really know which year i should get the 08 or 09...i just want the bike buy january! and i want it new so im open to suggestion...just msg me plz!!!! oh and i live in CALI!!!!
i was told the 09 wouldnt come out to around april of 09 so that makes the choice easy if you planning to buy by jan, i like the 250 so far its a nice starter bike
I dunno where your getting your ninjas but in hawaii/california/ Kelly blue book a good running ninja goes for 2800+- 300 a good looking/running ninja goes for 3200 +-500
Please, don't make the mistake of getting a small displacement bike. Even if you are a beginner. I almost did but was persuaded by some wise motorcycle guys. Basically you won't feel very comfortable on the highway because you won't have enough left over power to get out of trouble. Plus the bike will be turning very high revs all the time. Get at least a 500cc bike, if you plan on riding any distance on the highway. I bought a 1000cc 1987 Ninja for my first bike, never had any problems.
the ninja 250 top speed is 170km/h the highway speed limit is 100. i don't see the problem. maybe i do, u have a penis problem lol. kidding. i was gonna get a classic gixxer 600 after riding dirtbikes for years but i got quoted 3000CAD/year for insurance. 17yo+big cc big=shit loads of money. i have a 2007 ZZ-R250 and it runs just fine and u can also take on an impreza wrx until u hit 130 km.h
Where I live insurance isn't required for bikes, so it makes things a little easier, I am 17 too. I test drove a 2007 Ninja250 before I settled on my bike, I guess to each his own. Can't wait till next summer to ride. It is snowing outside as I type this. Good Luck.
its because of the fact that riding a motorcycle in america is over 100 times more dangerous than in any other country that i only ride early mornings and late nights. i have never ridden on the highway yet, im 17. i cant stop imagining a truck merging into my lane and gg
you obviously have never driven in italy. you think america's bad? try driving ON YOUR SIDE OF THE ROAD while dodging oncoming cars, pedestrians and faster cars/bikes. eep.
dont you have to take a drivers license before riding? where do you live? in my country its 20 theory lessions, 8 lessions on a course, and 20, on the street. before you may drive even with 34 hp. sad and expensive :( 1.500 euros... but safe
I feel like we oughta' do that here in the states, too. Every year around spring time there is a rash of motorcycle related fatalities precisely because this isn't the case.
'Course less regulation is probably better, huh....
in denmark we have around 160.000 motorcycles and 33 riders died last year, most of them because of cardrivers that didnt use their blinkers or pulled out in front of them. none of them was under 23 years, and none of them lacked experience.
i lived in denmark near kophen hagen for 2 years and i never heard that only 2 motorcicle drivers diead because of their own fault and the other because of cars and trucks
I learned on my brother's bike (650 cruiser) when I was 16 with no license. I bought my own bike last year that I ride about 3-4 time s week. I've been riding off and on for about 9 years now and have been riding by own motorcycle for about 6 months. Never took a class and never got a license. I'll get around to it one of these days I guess...
Ninja 250's are fun! I just did my first oil change on it.. and video'd it.. If you dont know how to change the oil on your Ninja 250, check out the vid in my profile. Its pretty easy.
nice looking bike, i started on a 125 then went to a 600, but im a sensable rider and know how showing off makes tears and a huge dent in the wallet haha.
It was my fist time ridding a motorcycle and I was just trying to see if I could stand up and ride. lol It's silly but I just wanted to see if I could. :)
don`t really like the bike but its a good way to start,I started on a 125 then had 2 400`s now got R6,if you start on a bigger bike and don`t have the skills and panic good chance you will come off or worse.
Ah yes, the ninja 250 is such an excellent motorcyle for all riders. I love the comments from the 17 year old children that do no understand the concept of riding a motorcycle. You all think the purpose of a bike is to do wheelies and go 150 miles per hour. Life is not a moive. The ninja 250 is one of the best, low maintance bikes on the market. I have owned a 1999 gsx600, 2001 cbr 1000, and a 2004 ninja 250. Honestly guys, the ninja 250 was the most comfortable bike out of the three.
I have a 250r as my first bike and i recently got a new 07 zx6r and let me tell you, the 250r is slow but its the funnest little bike to ride around. i got 60mpg on the 250 and my new bike only gets 45 and it uses premium. i wish i can keep my 250 but its for sale. i have a video of it on my profile
omg ninja 250r...a scooter you are going to get tired of that shit after 3 weeks...go get yourself a zzr600 it is heck of fast and guaranteed to last forver
nice bike Ninja 250 is the best bike ever!!! Represent lol. Never ride with shorts on you will get muffler burns on your legs and it's a lot more dangerous in case of a crash. get some good jeans w/kevlar, or other riding pants. the jeans are best for summer though i think
Thos bikes suck ninja 250r they are as powerful as the latest lawnwawers out there...a 2006 VW bug can beat the POS bike in the highway any day...you should have got a used 600 or maybe a 650...bad decision...ninja 250r = gay
another idiot bashing ninja 250 congrats. did anybody ever try to say, get a ninja 250, it has the highest top speed in the world!? no you fucking idiot ninja 250 riders are usually smart enough to realize you dont need to go over 105mph. And I run 13.8 in the quarter with 0-60 in under 5 seconds, so take a VW and shove it up your ass you noob faggot
So why don't you buy him a 600 and shut up? If the 250 ain't for ya it ain't for ya. I could just see it now: New rider dismembers self on high-powered motorbike, wishes he bought 250 instead. lol
Ninja 250 is for first time riders and with little suspension and hp upgrade it can keep up with the 600cc bikes in the twesties. I have a 600cc and a 750cc but when I hit for mountain roads I still take my ninja 250. Its an awsome bike
Sounds like one of those guys that isn't too happy with his life, so to make himself feel like he is of some value he tries to impress people by bashing a 250R. You don't have to have the biggest baddest bike out there to be cool! 250R's are great bikes and fulfill everything that you can do legally on the street anyway. If you want to impress everyone, get a 600CC or higher, but if you are comfortable with wo you are and aren't bothered by what society thinks of you, get what you want.
I always planned to get a 250r as my first bike, but I see alot of reviews that say some 600cc bikes are better, and yes im getting a Kat 600 to impress people, but I might get a 250r first because its my very vehicle on the road for cheaper insurance
It's a pre gen ninja you idiots.

well since you apparently know everything why is is the "worst possible choices for a beginner bike"
13RuffRyder 2 years ago
The purpose of a first bike is to allow you to master basic riding skills, build confidence and develop street survival strategies.
The bikes that you mentioned are designed for experienced riders. They are unforgiving and often overwhelming for beginners.
Go with a CBR125 or a Ninja 250. As a beginner the last thing you need is to be fearful of what your bike might do when you aren't ready for it.
Gixxers especially are notorious for killing off noobs.

the ninja 250 top speed is 170km/h the highway speed limit is 100. i don't see the problem. maybe i do, u have a penis problem lol. kidding. i was gonna get a classic gixxer 600 after riding dirtbikes for years but i got quoted 3000CAD/year for insurance. 17yo+big cc big=shit loads of money. i have a 2007 ZZ-R250 and it runs just fine and u can also take on an impreza wrx until u hit 130 km.h
carsnwomen91 3 years ago
Where I live insurance isn't required for bikes, so it makes things a little easier, I am 17 too. I test drove a 2007 Ninja250 before I settled on my bike, I guess to each his own. Can't wait till next summer to ride. It is snowing outside as I type this. Good Luck.

My friend bought his 93 Ninja 250 good running and looking for $800. In Ohio. Bikes are cheap hear.

Nice... just try to sit on the seat some more...
Keep standing on the pegs like that and you are just asking to drop the bike.

Cobra0911 3 years ago
its because of the fact that riding a motorcycle in america is over 100 times more dangerous than in any other country that i only ride early mornings and late nights. i have never ridden on the highway yet, im 17. i cant stop imagining a truck merging into my lane and gg

julian22arreola 3 years ago
dont you have to take a drivers license before riding? where do you live? in my country its 20 theory lessions, 8 lessions on a course, and 20, on the street. before you may drive even with 34 hp. sad and expensive :( 1.500 euros... but safe
Jepsion 4 years ago
I feel like we oughta' do that here in the states, too. Every year around spring time there is a rash of motorcycle related fatalities precisely because this isn't the case.
'Course less regulation is probably better, huh....
JumpDrive2 4 years ago
in denmark we have around 160.000 motorcycles and 33 riders died last year, most of them because of cardrivers that didnt use their blinkers or pulled out in front of them. none of them was under 23 years, and none of them lacked experience.
Jepsion 4 years ago
That's right respectable, man.
JumpDrive2 4 years ago 2
sheesh well in the states you ride with someone for 40 hours and take a short test and thats supposedly all you need...
Masahiro121 4 years ago
i lived in denmark near kophen hagen for 2 years and i never heard that only 2 motorcicle drivers diead because of their own fault and the other because of cars and trucks

Honestly guys, the ninja 250 was the most comfortable bike out of the three.
skaterpunk9199 4 years ago 2
how much different is your stance on the 250 to the zx6
Hurrquah 4 years ago
I have a 250r as my first bike and i recently got a new 07 zx6r and let me tell you, the 250r is slow but its the funnest little bike to ride around. i got 60mpg on the 250 and my new bike only gets 45 and it uses premium. i wish i can keep my 250 but its for sale. i have a video of it on my profile
wrx13oy 4 years ago
omg ninja 250r...a scooter you are going to get tired of that shit after 3 weeks...go get yourself a zzr600 it is heck of fast and guaranteed to last forver

This was my first day with the bike and so I wanted
to get a feel for it. :) Not sure if you could tell but
I was in first gear in this video. I was still learning
to shift when I recorded this.

marhay 4 years ago
nice bike Ninja 250 is the best bike ever!!! Represent lol. Never ride with shorts on you will get muffler burns on your legs and it's a lot more dangerous in case of a crash. get some good jeans w/kevlar, or other riding pants. the jeans are best for summer though i think
skyline44512 4 years ago
Thos bikes suck ninja 250r they are as powerful as the latest lawnwawers out there...a 2006 VW bug can beat the POS bike in the highway any day...you should have got a used 600 or maybe a 650...bad decision...ninja 250r = gay
neomorphic805 4 years ago
another idiot bashing ninja 250 congrats. did anybody ever try to say, get a ninja 250, it has the highest top speed in the world!? no you fucking idiot ninja 250 riders are usually smart enough to realize you dont need to go over 105mph. And I run 13.8 in the quarter with 0-60 in under 5 seconds, so take a VW and shove it up your ass you noob faggot
skyline44512 4 years ago
So why don't you buy him a 600 and shut up? If the 250 ain't for ya it ain't for ya. I could just see it now: New rider dismembers self on high-powered motorbike, wishes he bought 250 instead. lol
ntrudr800 4 years ago
Ninja 250 is for first time riders and with little suspension and hp upgrade it can keep up with the 600cc bikes in the twesties. I have a 600cc and a 750cc but when I hit for mountain roads I still take my ninja 250. Its an awsome bike
srsniplayer 4 years ago
Sounds like one of those guys that isn't too happy with his life, so to make himself feel like he is of some value he tries to impress people by bashing a 250R. You don't have to have the biggest baddest bike out there to be cool! 250R's are great bikes and fulfill everything that you can do legally on the street anyway. If you want to impress everyone, get a 600CC or higher, but if you are comfortable with wo you are and aren't bothered by what society thinks of you, get what you want.
HONDADFW 4 years ago
I always planned to get a 250r as my first bike, but I see alot of reviews that say some 600cc bikes are better, and yes im getting a Kat 600 to impress people, but I might get a 250r first because its my very vehicle on the road for cheaper insurance
