The reason that this show is the best on television is because it isn't about anything supernatural or out of this world. It isn't about a serial killer who can't be caught, it isn't about vampires, it isn't about a middle aged woman who runs millions of dollars in drug cartels. It's about a man who's beautifully tragic life has never failed to lead him to a place where he doesn't know what to do next. The emotional appeal, character portrayal, and the events in the show are flawless. Bravo.

@mrtpayne89 I would say that californication is distinctly better than BB. The reason being, cali is a tight package and never makes huge mistakes in the writing, RARELY at least. Breaking bad has introduced bizar sub plots that never went anywhere, and it has written tremendous over blown events into the script, that simply served to prove a point or advance the plot, and yet were completely convoluted and improbable and so clearly contrived for the purpose of creating drama.

He was talking about the whole Hank and Karen situation and how with the new season coming up, he wants to take that premise in a different direction. He himself mentioned how he believed there's only so much of the cat and mouse thing between them that the viewers can take before getting tired of it. In season 5 Hank will be living in NY, with the story taking place 3 years after where it left off
