a cuz i just moved to washington from hawaii... plan to head out to oregon one of these days an check um out. i miss the waves. anyway good video take cares aloha
All u clowns that wanna talk smack about Oregon or N-Cali just stay where your at we don't need your vibe....I'm from So-Cal.....the only thing you got going down there is warmer water...and mldweenus....if surfing is just about chicks to you......ur a poser.....keep ur ass down there son no ones missing ya up here....WOW just looked at ur profile...LOL...ur 17...no wonder ur talking all retarded......hey son come back in a few years when ur balls drop......BOY
Oregon is seriously the last place for Secret Spots, i surfed there in the late 80s and went back recently and still some places have no surfers at all, and i'm never telling where these spots are. Just gotta find um yourself :)
ok i used to live 1 hour north of seaside OR and the locals wont try to fight you or nothing for the surf bra they will be more helpfull than anything.. and there is good surf
Yeah, I surfed up and down the Oregon coast. Nobody messed with me even though I had CA plates. For the 12 months I spent surfing up here, I saw maybe 2-3 surfers who weren't begginers. No crowds anywhere. No "hardcore" local. There are good waves to be had maybe 20-30 days out of the year. The rest of the days sucked. Lots of really crappy days. Don't lie to yourself and pretend that the waves are good up here, because they aren't.
@hotrats420 Sounds like you weren't looking in the right places. If you get OR dialed you can surf way more than 20-30 days a year. I can only really speak for Southern OR but there are lots of little nooks.
howzit eh just moved to oregon from hawaii nei and i was wondering if theres any wave on in the summer because i dont think i could handle the winter if you could message or coment me back id appreciate aloha
@mldweenus I heard Gerry Lopez did exactly that. When I was a toddler, in the mid 60's, my mother married a shaper and they moved to Or. I grew up surfing Santa Barbara, but he would send me a board every year. Oregon has to be better than Alaska, heh heh
true about Cali plates, there cars might get tagged. Pac Northwesterners have always had a general dislike for Californians. Since our beaches arent on a very steep grade, like Californias, we rely on storms to generate good swells. If conditions are right Oregon beaches rival Californias for surfing.
dude good job exploiting Oregon dumbass hey cali bitches stay the fuck out of oregon unless you want a fucked up car the waves in cali are shit compared to oregon so stay the fuck out
@travisico dude, id be more worried about oregons currents then your "localism" at seaside, newport, and florence...you can have your shitty breaks...in the meantime, i'll be surfing san diego, only to come out of the water to bronzin blondes in thongs.
hahahah pointless bitching...have some aloha bah...it goes along ways...everyone is entitled to surf no matter where your from, always going to be people, deal with it. givng aloha will always get you further then being a local dumbass....your gonna screw up someones car because they live 100 miles away? come on man...thats like racism..its pointless and ignorant.
Don't worry about keeping the waves in OR a secret. They suck. The waves in CA are 10 times better at least. Keeping this a secret would only entice more surfers to come up and try. If I had known how terrible the waves are here, I would not have agreed to move here.
PS: i remember when i first started surfing too. Good times.
except cali is over rated as hell and californians can be even worse. All they do is complain. IT'S TOO COLD, THE RAINS ALL THE TIME, THERE'S NO SUN, THE BEACH IS FREEZING! just shut up and go back to cali
@Jarek4 I grew up surfing in So-Cal and to tell you the truth So-Cal attitude SUCKS...except for the Venice Beach (DogTown) Crew.... most those guys are a bunch of clown.....most of the good surfers I know moved away from there.....including myself.....but not all of CALI is like that....when your go up north past SF the surfers are more real.....not a bunch of insecure egomanics....especially the san diego prima donnas...from a CALI native surfer....F*CK U SO-CAL CLOWNS...stay down there....
Looking at Coos bay waves makes me home sick the best memories I have are of learning how to surf on the waves of Coos bay. Now I live in Utah and the closest thing I have to waves is the wave pool at the water park.
Hey, didn't you get the memo? we're suppose to keep surf on the Oregon coast a secret, we don't want Californians leaving their crowded beaches to come up north.
This was so nice to see. I'm from Oregon but have lived in Hawaii for 33 years. Sometimes I get homesick. Thanks for showing me a little bit of Oregon today.
this video puts me at peace, i live in portland, but i love surfing here on the coast, nehalem, seaside, astoria... when i go, im too happy and relaxed to care about the cold :)
Thanks for posting this video man most people don't know that you can surf Oregon or even that people do. But you can and its fun. I have never had a problem with the locals not being welcoming to me.
Oregon is an amazing place. I am a Pacific City local and PC is definitely a great place to surf. Sometimes I'll go down to Nelscott or up to Indian which is at Cannon beach. Oh, and by the way ryne1980 . . . the surf doesn't suck, there are MANY people who love Oregon's waves, the water is far from polluted, Oregon is overflowing with environmentalists who do beach clean ups a lot and the locals are very friendly, always willing to lend a hand or help people out.
i surfed oregon, before.. around the cannon beach area.. i love it :D i go back every summer for a couple weeks.. even if ur not surfing just check out cannon beach, its by far my favorite place to go :D
i just drove home to seattle from there today!!!!!

That is ridiculously cheesy that you actually quote something from another movie?
You even have the audacity to put Jack Johnson in the background. That is Kelly Slater's quote that you say about your dad surfing....etc....
