  • what a beautiful artist she would have been. RIP

  • rest in peace Delara jan, nobody can hurt u now :(

  • I may be white - my soul is black - Not black like color - Black from emptiness - nothingness- numbness - from all the pain & suffering in the world - 4 I still believe in the words of the wise - Life locked in a prison w/ no crime 2 be seen - just race, poverty & the wrong family - No way 2 b freed - So I say it now as Eugene would so plead..

"While there is a lower class I am in it; while there is a criminal element I am of it; while there is a soul in prison, I am not free."

    Peace4evermore~

  • they killed her (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

  • No one is responding. Oh well according to a Persian proverb: silence is the sign of agreement.

YEAH! another one for the Rainbow. (he he, just kidding)

These men should face the justice for innocently murdering me.

  • I was AGAINST executing her. BUT SHE IS NOT INNOCENT.

She either assisted in a murder or committed it herself. Either way, she was guilty. The victim, a mother of 3, received 18 stab wounds!

After the murder, she did not report it to the police, thus concealing the murder, and protecting the killer.

The murder occurred as she and her boyfriend robbed a relative of hers, Mrs Mahin Darabi, mother of three. So, the murder took place as part of an illicit act in which she willingly participated.

  • shame on you. she was a kid when murder happened. even if she was not innocent, she was under 18. how could you be so cruel? you are the as molas

  • we are sooo sorry that delara was hanged.

  • This poem will become one of the most Known ones ever written on prison.

    Prison by Del Ara

I want to grant you another name,

Who read this name for the first time"?

What was the bird of his thoughts searching for?

    How far did it soar

    Until it veiwed this abyss?

    What did it see?

    That it felt the void

the void of a sensation called freedom".

  • Delara mohem ineh ke tu hame to donia dostet daran va khonevadeh shaki manfore hamean,,,

  • while I pray for her soul to rest in peace, It came to my mind that here in US In State of Colorado and few other state we have had kids as young as 12 have been tried and got life imprisonment for their action. One such thing was a child that had killed both his parent and he was 12 or 14. Yet we never heard any thing from Amnesty international about those cases. So why Amnesty is just so hot about Iran? something to think about. Is Iran being singled out??????????????

  • feesabeal, Good point. It is unfortunate that her case has been hijacked by folks who have a grudge against Iran. The nature of the involvement of International agencies, in view of whatever else that goes on in the world, is certainly dubious.

  • khaili doostd daram bedonam on khoevadeii ke nazashtan to tabrae beshi va on ghazii ke in hokm ro be to dad shaba sareshon ro ba aramesh mizaran mikhaban? Delara azizam aram bekhab ke dige kesi bidaret nemikone! ba aramesh bekhab ke dige kesi aziatet nemikone! adam bazi vaghata moteaasef mishe az in ke iraniey! age in dokhtar jaye digeye donya in etefagh vasash oftade bood alan zende bood!

  • You are mixing religion up with politics, which is the danger in having an Islamic government. How are we to separate religion from the political process. Even so, Delara was murdered by people who didn't even follow their own laws. She deserved better than that. Muslim or not.

  • Even if all that ridiculous hogwash was true, you wouldn't care anyway. You're just an enemy of Islam or maybe religion as a whole & you do anything you can to stigmatize it but regardless of all your futile efforts Islam will continue grow at a rapid rate until the whole world is covered by it's light.

    ___That's all folks!!!

  • If you had been listening then you would have known that I am against the death penalty everywhere, even the USA. I fight for all who are facing execution. It's scary that a woman would talk as you are. Why would your family leave a place if it were so wonderful? I love all nationalities to be here in America but you seem to love Iranian laws so why are you here? I don't mean it bad- Just wondering/

  • Because if US is to be a nation of freedom & democracy then I reserve my democratic right to oppose it's foreign policy.

  • Yes you do but not all laws are right and I feel that doesn't matter to you. We are born to know right from wrong. We do not need church and state to tell us. Sometimes they are wrong but people seem to follow like sheep without using their own mind, heart and soul.

  • Yes we are all born perfect & know right from wrong but this world is not all good. This is not a perfect world, this is not heaven & we become deluded & can very easily go astray which I had for the most part of my life. That's why we need God & His laws to help us back on the right track

  • God is in your heart - not a book. Luckily when you were deluded and astray you were not in Iran or you too many have been hanged.

  • God is in my heart, in a book, up there, down here, on the web, everywhere. it's obvious you can't comprehend or acknowledge that or you wouldn't have posted such ignorant comment.

  • I better say goodbye now. God is calling.

    Adios, Khodahafez

  • You need to shut up woman or man whoever you are! What if it is your child? What if hah? Life is strange you know, but what if God forbid it does happen to your child? What if? That they end up at the wrong place? That is why they are called kids.

  • She was also hanged several days after Iran's chief justice ordered a 2 month stay of execution. That is possibly the most disturbing element, for it reminds us that power in the Islamic Republic is confusingly dispersed, often between secular and religious authorities.

  • Delara Darabi had been persuaded to take the blame by her older boyfriend Amir Hossein. It was in fact Mr Hossein who had killed the rich relation, she said, to get the money. Amir told Delara Darabi that she could save him from the gallows by confessing and that would be no risk to her own life because she was still a minor. The young woman complied. Her boyfriend was sentenced to 10 years in prison for complicity to murder; she was sentenced to death.

  • does anyone know what piece of music this is?

  • Iranian justice system is not perfect. Whether it is a retribution-based justice philosophy or the horrible executions of summer of 1360, there have always been serious flaws in the system.Delaras death is sad, specially given her image. But she did receive a lengthy trial with quite a few reviews. Lets not forget the victim of the alleged crime in this case.

Concentrating on one case, sensationalizing it, and using it as a political tool is not going to help the cause of justice in Iran.

  • DerafsheKavian-

What a stupid thing to say! We are not only focusing on one case! We are focusing on all the cases at stopchildexecutions.

You say she had a lengthy trial. What about her 2 month stay she was given and then dragged out of her cell ILLEGALLY a few day later to be hanged?

    Delara Darabi was innocent.

  • Not perfect, not perfect???? Are you kidding me? It's a joke and you know it. The authorities just do whatever they please, ignoring their own ridiculous laws whenever they feel like it, not to mention international laws that they have agreed to. A government based on Religion will never be fair or democratic. And, what should be do? Not sensationalize cases like Delara's and let the poor (minor) girl die without a voice somewhere? Please! And, she didn't receive and lengthy trial as you stated.

  • She was given a trial that lasted a few hours and was never allowed to have a reenactment of the murder. They only went based on her (coerced) confession. And what about the fact that they ignored her stay of execution for reviewal and just killed he. Did not inform her family or lawyer 48 hours before, as Iranian justice demands. She was allowed to call her mother a few minutes before her death. Imagine she is innocent. All you can say is, oops, the system is not prefect. Not good enough.

  • I do not see guilt! She has seen these things happen & is showing us what she saw & what she had 2 take blame & punishment 4.

  • Rest in peace Delara....

  • Powerful paintings! They are very emotional and show the terror and despair of a young girl in death row. Very touching!

Regarding her case, I don't think I am qualified to comment on that.

Regarding Iranian policy, all I can say is that it was a murder case and she has confessed. In many states here in the USA, she would have been executed too. Therefore, it would be hypocritical to criticize the Iranian court system based on her case.

  • Can not deny she wasn't a great artist & the pictures seem to signify her tremendous guilty concious. The one at 1:31 depicting a figure with bloody hands is a perfect example.

    Highly psychologically potent pictures.

May GOD have mercy on her soul.

  • Are you kidding? She was innocent!

  • What makes you so sure? You gotta keep that in mind, she did try to kill herself once in prison.

  • It's too much to explain here but the information is out there if you search.

  • For new news goog..

    Iran execution provokes outrage

You can say we are outraged!

  • By her own account, she says after her 17th birthday, she lost colors, which could be translated as losing joy, enthusiasm, hope, etc.

Why would she feel that way if there was no other tragedy in her life other than suffering from guilt.

  • I have nothing to say to your ignorance anymore. You have been taught wrong and mind is full of cancer.

  • I haven't been taught anything & I am not jumping to any conclusions nor am I defending anyone. I am only bringing some points to light. who is the ignorant one here?

Still may God have mercy on her soul.

  • Her boyfriend was the one who committed murder and made her take the blame telling her she would be set free because she was a minor.

Contact nazanin afshin-jam- She will show all the laws the iranians broke.

  • All I am saying is, to me, her paintings & poetry conveys overwhelming guilt.

It's not my place to judge any party.

    That's all.

  • It's so weird how your thinking is backwards. I know mean well but u don't seem to understand. U seem as if you were taught that women can be silenced & deserve nothing. Murder & the death penalty r wrong- hanging is pure evil! How can u condone it? Is it your religion? Religion-the reason there is hate, war, sorrow, pain & destuction- ALL RELIGION- This world needs peace911

    peace4evermore~

  • whoa, chills, please Ma'am, no need to be all judgemental or anything, I am not talking or giving any opinions on religions or death penalty or women's issues or anything of that nature. All I am saying is when I saw her paintings, I, ok just I as in myself, me, felt as if she was holding deep emotional pain & guilt inside & she was expressing that thru her art which is, I must say, exquisite.

  • This is about religion! Her death is because of religion. This started with you judging Delara Darabi and will end with me defending her.

  • So you played God!!? right?

  • So you played God!!? Do you Touchofrainbow?

  • We all play God.

  • No! We do not ALL play God. Some of us just teach compassion. Religions play God-Governments play God and you 'Touchofrainbow' are their sheep.

  • Yes we all play God just as you are playing God right now.

  • Would you say that to the children of the murdered woman? How about their voice? Don't they deserve justice for the murder of their mother? 3 kids left motherless. Have you tried to be in their shoes?

I doubt it, You are too busy being judgemental & ignorant.

  • What makes u think she murdered her.? Have u not learned anything from the history of terrorist Iranian officials? There r other reasons 4 her execution. You r the 1 judging by assuming she committed murder.

Have u visited stopchildexecutions? Do u think all those children deserve to be hanged? One girl will be hanged for having sex with a boy over 18. They also continue to hang children that do homosexual acts. A 16 year old faces that now!!! TouchofdRainbow- you are starting to upset me!!!!!

  • I am not upsetting you. Truth is upsetting you. You don't feel peace because you chose to believe false & hostile propaganda instead of enlightening yourself with facts & truth so you may feel peace.

  • FALSE PROPAGANDA??? What a joke!

  • You are making your race look bad. You are defending the evil government and not your beautiful Iranian people. They need you and you are turning your back on them.

  • You're right about me not feeling peace. I will never feel peace while people suffer injustice.

But I am not ignorant- ignorance is bliss. If you are at peace, then you are ignorant.

  • Say, the truth has arrived & falsehood neither creates anything new nor restores anything.-Saba 34:49

  • And you said it's not about religion! Haha

  • Verily We have brought you the truth but most of you have a hatred for the truth.-Zukhruf(the adornments)43:78

  • What on earth are you doing?!!! Trying to be a preacher? !!!!!!!!!

You only make yourself a clown.

  • How can you accuse crissmothers of false & hostile propaganda? Did you not read the FACTS of Delara's case?

What kind of country executes a child? This is not justice, it's barbaric!

Why was Delara hanged in secret? Because her hanging was murder plain and simple!

  • Obviously the one who needs to read the facts is you.

She was 23 when she was executed, that's not a child.

  • She was given a death sentence as a child.

  • If you are so sure she was innocent, tell that to the murdered woman's kids & help them bring their mother's real killer to justice. Then as a true activist, you will have the reverence & admiration of the world.

  • Delara Darabi's ex boyfriend is a little murderous coward that is shamed wordwide. He knows the truth. Besides for you to condone a hanging shows your religious, unethical and immoral beliefs.

  • Then help bring him to justice, that's what being an activist means, does it not?

Whatever my religion teaches, it does not teach judging & condescending another for his/her beliefs which appears to be not the case with your religion.

  • I don't not believe in ANY organized religion and I hope we do bring him to justice. He took the life of an innocent girl but even him I do not wish to be hanged. It is immoral.

  • Would you say the same if he had murdered (IF he did) someone in your family?

  • Then I would fight for a life sentence- which gives us time to find out if we accused the wrong person. We need to abolish the death penalty. It's barbaric!

  • Besides TouchofDRainbow-

This whole conversation started yesterday by you being judging Delara Darabi so you are not following you religious beliefs then.

  • I did not judge her, you are judging me by accusing me of judging. I only gave my opinion.

& FYI in Islamic law they live it up to the victim's family to decide for the death penalty. Look up 'Ghessas' if you get a chance.

  • You said she seems guilty because of her paintings. I didn't agree with that.

  • & I am not condemning you for not agreeing.

  • There should be no reason to give the victim's family the option of execution for a minor. Besides, it's not a very objective way of deciding these matters. The victims family is always grieving and can hardly be expected to make an objective decision. These laws are stuck in the dark ages, not relevant to today's society. They will keep Iran stagnant.

  • What kind of country executes a child? This is not justice, it's barbaric!

answer: America, America in the past decade has executed more juveniles than all the countries combined.

Check the statistics for yourself if you don't believe me.

  • & yet Iran is being condemned.

    Now I'm asking you,

    Honestly, is this justice?

  • Go on, live in Iran, find your TRUTH! You are nothing but a pathetic hypocrite.

  • Ahmad Nourzahi from Sistan-Baluchistan, was sentenced to death for carrying and supplying heroin, apparently when he was 12. Poor boy!

Do think he deserves to be hanged too??? Your family left the country for a reason. If you stayed, you may be in prison awaiting you hanging for a crime you did not commit or committed as a small child. You are lucky and should be helping your people. You make me sad.

  • People of the book, why do you cloth truth with falsehood & conceal the truth while you have knowledge?-Imran 3:71

  • hahahahahahahahahaha! You think you know more about religion than me because of one book? Every religion has a book and preaches the same bullshit. So many religions- all colliding- Crash!!! You would be preaching any faith you had been born into with the same idea that your religion is the only religion...blah blah blah. You're all the same.

  • So you do. What a pity? I dont. "We" are not a like. Because each one of us has his/her own distinguished fingerprintyou are not God.

  • Wrong. YOU play God, YOU say that her art reflects guilt and not dispair, YOU draw judgement.

Religion and dogma is the poison of man.

Get back to your backward country, you belong there, you're an apologist for this dogma, you should live amongst it. Just pray to YOUR phony god that you don't ever become implicated in a serious crime. "God" wouldn't kick the chair from beneath you, another human would!

  • She could also have painted these pictures as a reflection of her deep depression and hopelessness in the face of unavoidable execution. Imagine YOU were in her shoes, would you be painting pretty, vibrant pictures full of light and colour? The fact that she depicted dark, depressing images does not necessarily point to guilt - Isn't there a likelihood that she was misled by her boyfriend, isn't there a likelihood that she was naive? You're far too judgemental, your damned 'god' is no excuse.

  • You say you are not jumping to conclusions but all you say proves otherwise. You seem to have little complex or critical thinking.

  • Then you can ask a professional about the psychological transmission of her paintings.

The crime was committed in 2004, she was executed in 2009. That's a span of 5 years for her trial. In most cases that's suffiecient time.

You seem to have a little complex about facts or judmental, partial thinking perhaps stemming from enmity.

  • Simply stating the years that have passed does not mean anything. Over those 5 years she was not given a fair trial and even you cannot deny that they killed her even though she had been given a stay of execution to examine the evidence. They never even reenacted the crime. Even if she was guilty under the laws Iran agreed to, she should not be executed.

  • Then let's say what you say is true, why doesn't your own country implement that. Do you know how many Black juveniles in America are executed when their crimes are against Whites? e.g. Glen McGinnis was executed when he in panic shot & killed a White woman when he was just 17. that's just one case. Watch Dead Man Walking-USA. Where is your outrage when it happens in your own soil or the country you reside in?

    Charity starts at home....Remember

  • Aha! So Delara Delabi DEFINITELY commited the act of murder? She stabbed her father's cousin just as Glen McGinnis shot a white woman? McGinnis DID shoot his victim. it was proven, where's the proof that Delabi actually killed anyone? BTW, I live in the UK, we've not executed anyone here for over forty years and even then, never by stealth. My outrage is reserved for your hypocrisy, nothing more nothing less. You argue for it, your guilt is displayed by YOUR counter accusations. You are scum.

  • No, she wouldn't have been executed. She was a minor and under international law she should be exempt from execution. Iran signed the agreement by the UN, so did the US, and still they murder children. Let's say she was guilty, she would not have been executed here.

  • According to United Nations.........PULEEEEZE

United Nations is the same organization that allows the terrorist state of Zionist Israel slaughter 1000s of innocent Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghani, lebanese infants, children, women & men....It's the same organization that let's Zionism demolish homes of Palestinians....etc. etc.

    According to United Nations.

    United Nations is a joke

  • So is Sharia Law. What's your point?

  • behesht zireh paye ashegan ast, peyambaran sar foroud areed

  • This breaks my heart. She was executed yesterday. May she rest in peace. <3

  • welcome to muslim justice

  • Sure women are threaten worse over there but executing the wrong person is an issue in every country which has a death penalty. Just too bad the confessed if it wasn't her, guess they should learn not to listen to the men.

  • And not obtain confessions by torture too perhaps?

  • What a terrible injustice... my heart goes out to all her loved ones, and all who are in danger of the same thing happening to them.

  • R.I.P Delara....

  • Rest In Peace, Sweet Spirit...

  • My heart breaks, no words can express my sorrow for her family and this world. That we could not save her through our joined voices, letters, calls, pickets and petitions shows a level of ignorance among our leaders that is horrific...horrific....

  • SO SAD

  • Very sad to hear about her execution. What else can we do now but celebrate her short life through her art.

  • we can campaign against this happening to another child.

  • DelaraDarabi was hanged to death by the terrorist government of Iran today.

Another innocent girl was UNLAWFULLY EXECUTED. ~ RIP~ DELARA DARABI

Hayedeh Amir-Eftekhari: YOU WILL NEVER LIVE A DAY OF PEACE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU MURDERED DelaraDarabi.

  • I cry. Damn sharia.

  • Terrorist government?

I guess yours are to then ..

Innocent? How do you know? She most likely was but since she has confessed. How many innocent people are killed in the USA?

  • Yes terrorist: your ignorance is going so far that execution of a minor has no complications. And oh yes, they waited till she reaches maturity.

  • Minors are punished in a lot of places, over here in Sweden you are only safe as a child vs the law until you turn 15. But then we don't have death sentences at all, I don't know if it really matters that much if it's a 17 year old or a 19 year old person they kill. It's harsh stuff no matter what.
