great (hell fantastic to be honest) job, to bad the assholes in the crowd didnt appreciate the gift you were giving them, would love to hear more from you, great voice!
Nice job. You play it differently than me but sing way better than I do! Most cover bands are ham fisted in their treatment of Doobie songs, but you show the song great love. Keep playing!
Great job. I wish the butt heads in the background realized how great a classic this song is! You have a great voice for this Doobie favorite of mine!
Very fine rendition of this song! Your voice is alot like Pat's. Brings back memories. Mr. Simmons once sang this to me for my birthday at the House of Blues. Unforgettable.
I hate it when someone is playing and singing their heart out and assholes just keep yelling and screaming over the top of him. Great song and great playing and singing too. I would love to jam with you Brother. Keep it up man. You Rock Brother!
Excellent job on a very classic Doobie special,...have you ever tried it in Open G the way Pat Simmons plays it?,...it's has great harmonics that way, but requires finger-picking vs. strumming as you are doing. All you were missing was Bumpus's sax solo,...killer job, Tim-Hurricane Alley(FL)
Thanks so much Tim! I'm not very good with alternate tunings & usually just stick/adjust to standard, although I agree it would be better that way as Pat did it. I also strum it when I play it alone to attempt to make up for lack of a band behind me! :) Ever hear them do it live these days with Marc Russo on sax? Breathtaking!!! Their Live at Wolf Trap CD & DVD is an amazing example of that. Thanks again!
Yeah, I've got both Live at Wolf Trap and Rockin' Down The Highway DVD's,....great concerts! That's where I picked up Simmons Open G tuning on South City Midnight Lady, but I do agree that your strumming version definitely fills in for a more full sound. I'm getting a camcorder soon and doin' the Youtube thing,...I'm been doing this for 38 years & have 25 great guitars, Martins, Gibsons, Larrivees, Bourgeois, McPherson, Alvarez, etc (I need therapy!)
Dude, you hit it otta the park! Outstanding cover, great job man! Greetings from Tucson, Arizona.

I'd have loved it if you were joined by the rest of the Doobies and totally set the place alight. Sounded good enough to me bud. Big man hugs

You come up in the You Tube Doobie Brothers mix, and rightfully so.

Keep playing man-the toughest thing in the world is to get drunks to listen to good music.

Beautiful rendition....The folks in the back
should have hushed up like they were in
church listening to a hymn...but maybe it was rounding out a good party atmosphere...anyway I think Tom and Pat
would approve of the way you sang and you made the Ovation sing....great tribute

Great rendition of a great song, too bad the jerks in the place couldn't show some respect for your talents and shut up.

You were too good for that crowd, they did not deserve someone with your talent!

Wow...beautifully done. I'd love to have the
pleasure of watching you perform. Sounds like the audience you had didn't appreciate the quality singing/playing you gave them. Keep it up!

Great rendition Walk..Still gives me goose bumps to hear this song.
Any chance of redoing it without the "background singers"?
