VERY useful. i love it. i am thinking of taking both. major in graphic design which is my biggest strength because i just plainly love design. minor in web design which i don't have much experience at but i feel like it will help my career.

At their core, they are the same. But neither one can make the jump from one field to the other and churn out award-quality work. Both of these fields have very focused skill sets that don't translate natively into the other, even though some aspects are similar. But, if you have a passion for design and layout, a graphic designer could quickly learn how to make an attractive and usable site using existing composition skills.
