Actually I work for AT&T, my store which is slow as hell sells a few every day. In fact stats from last year(Just google it) show that over 4.3 million were sold since the 3g was released, and 40% of that was customers new to AT&T. So apparently the people who have spent well over $860,000,000 (Thats only an estimate for phone costs based on the 8gig) don't seem to mind that its 'overrated' and 'overpriced'. Oh, and also around the world there have been 17,000,000 sold world wide.

iPhone technology and OSX in general are far ahead from its so called "predeccors". Just perform simple analytical review: all mobile companies spent long time to achieve what we use today. Apple did it in short of time being non-experienced in mobile industry at all. In additions this is the first company who offered new approach for the use of mobile device at all and the whole system management. Symbian is still use old school approach. iPhone 3G is totally different level.
I have been experienced with this phone for the test purposes. It is frustrating, espencially when phone is 1/2 loaded, it`s sluggish and freezes. Symbian OS is far away from OSX Mobile. Symbian stiil needs proper development in term of speed and stability.

they were the first to use sweeping gestures to scroll tru menus, and slide to unlock! (more gestures than iphone!, sweep to scroll, confirm, decline, close window, open options, call, end call, open menu...). i wud say they hv a more responsive touchscreen than iphone, but more complicated UI. most touchscreen phones r alike: a big screen with v few/no buttons so its hard to say which was 1st. it wasnt prada bcos there were full touchscreen phones way b4 it.

More or less the same here. I used to really bash the iPhone when it first came out. After having purchased one back in April, and unlocked it of course. I've got to say It's certainly the best phone I've ever had, certainly the easiest to use.
My previous phone been a Nokia N95 which I wore out and broke after 6 months. Currently also use a E71, which I think is great.
Can't wait to see what the future holds for Google Android phones though. This looks like a very interesting platform IMO

iPhone technology and OSX in general are far ahead from its so called "predeccors". Just perform simple analytical review: all mobile companies spent long time to achieve what we use today. Apple did it in short of time being non-experienced in mobile industry at all. In additions this is the first company who offered new approach for the use of mobile device at all and the whole system management. Symbian is still use old school approach. iPhone 3G is totally different level.

I have been experienced with this phone for the test purposes. It is frustrating, espencially when phone is 1/2 loaded, it`s sluggish and freezes. Symbian OS is far away from OSX Mobile. Symbian stiil needs proper development in term of speed and stability.

both r not the 1st full touch screen phones tho.
neonode n1 was out in 2002 and was a full touch screen phone.
also there probably were other full touch screen phones before that i cant remember right now

they were the first to use sweeping gestures to scroll tru menus, and slide to unlock! (more gestures than iphone!, sweep to scroll, confirm, decline, close window, open options, call, end call, open menu...). i wud say they hv a more responsive touchscreen than iphone, but more complicated UI. most touchscreen phones r alike: a big screen with v few/no buttons so its hard to say which was 1st. it wasnt prada bcos there were full touchscreen phones way b4 it.

the thing is, the palm pilot was not a FULL touch screen phone...plus, the touch sensitivity was not enough to manipulate with fingers...it was considered more of a PDA-type portable computer/ planner and not a PHONE
the phone feature was only considered to be an addition.
so, the palm pilot wasnt considered a FULL touch screen PHONE...

Definitely not talking its kind of a keyboard with text :) no your right that was rude, all im saying is the touch screen isn't new and the phone was an addon at first them the treo came out in '02. Apple added some innovations like the sliding but nothing totally new, and really its not a touch screen its heat sensitive so it acts like a touch pad.

i think that iphone isnt the best PHONE out there, but if you want a phone thats fun to use, has great features, cool games and looks beautiful, nothing can compare as far as i know. iphone is more a gadget than a phone

The Iphone is not a shit phone..actually it is for many reasons. But the only reason it survives is because of 2 reasons. 1) its flashy interface (really bad OS for eople who actually use smartphones to its potential and beyond) and 2) advertising. The Iphone isn't the best phone guys. Doesn't matter how many fgan boys says it is. You guys are noobs to the smartphone wolrd and just realised there is actually something other than a moto razor out there when the phone was released.

Yeh, flashy interface and its very easy to use, these is what people like and why the iPhone is so successful.
IMO most other smartphones are basically too fiddly or difficult to use, especially Windows Mobile.

The Iphone isn't the best phone on the market.( here come the stupid remarks now) This Nokia 5800 Xpress is a really sick phone though. I have been following it for quite somtome and might go with this instead of my Nokia E90 Communicator.

I actually sell the Iphone and many others. Just because the Iphone has a flashy interface deosn't mean that it's better performance wise and also hardware wise..because its not..I can list atleast 10 phones of the top of my head that kill desroy the Iphone. Sorry dude but your just an average user who deosn't know much bout phones.

so i tred to look for a great touch screen phone, tryed the LG viewty and many more. but honastly sayin, nothin can compare to the iphone. hence the reason why i have one now and i love it!

More or less the same here. I used to really bash the iPhone when it first came out. After having purchased one back in April, and unlocked it of course. I've got to say It's certainly the best phone I've ever had, certainly the easiest to use.
My previous phone been a Nokia N95 which I wore out and broke after 6 months. Currently also use a E71, which I think is great.
Can't wait to see what the future holds for Google Android phones though. This looks like a very interesting platform IMO

Most people with an iPhone think they have the best phone out in the market. And if anyone says something bad about it then they they he just can't afford it :D
In fact they have a phone which is not able to record a video out of the box or wich is not able to recive or sent a file with bluetooth...
And 2 MP camera??? Some Nokias even have 5 with flash ^^
The User-Inerface of the iPhone is really good. But for me there are more improtant things then a nice User-Interface...
