say what you want about corollas, but there pretty damn reliable...i have an 07 corolla s and through 100,000 miles ive only put in the shop twice...so yea even though you might think its a womans car, its not...but go ahead and get a big manly heavy duty truck with 10 mpg and having to put it in the shop every 2 months
Another grown man right here, who PROUDLY owns a 2004 Toyota Corolla S with 417,000kms (259,000mi) on the odometer. Original engine, original transmission, no rebuilds. Just routine maintenance. In the snow and slush and salt of Northern Ontario, Canada, with not a spot of rust. I love my car, I don't care what these people think. They are just fantastic cars if you take care of them.
I own a 2004 Toyota corolla s and I love it. It's my first car. And a great first car. But who is he to say that it's a woman's car? I'm a grown ass man and its not a woman's car. I bet I can whoop that ass.
My first and current car is a 1994 Toyota Corolla. I am ready to buy my 2nd car and I am looking for a 2006-2007 Toyota Corolla at around $6,000... I know its a hasty suggestion as they are rarely found under $8,000... But they are so reliable that I hope I can find it...
@GMasis001 Yea man, it will be hard to find one that cheap, especially with low miles. I drive an 06 now with 40k miles & it's currently worth 11k. Bought it new back in 05 for 16k & it has had no problems so far. Their resale values are one of the best.
I drive an 06 Corolla CE everyday,,an it works well,,has almst 140,000 kms,,and my pay car is a 77 Firebird formula, with a 455 that makes over 500 hp
The Corolla is for women and educated people? LOL How about SMART people who want an affordable and comfortable car? These road test editors get spoiled with all the hottest, fastest and luxurious cars, so having a day to test a Corolla to them is like going to the dentist. They are usually biased because their buddy on the track got to test the 911 and they didn't. LOL. But take it from a Toyota lover: The Corolla is a smart choice for EVERYONE. :-)
Yep, I have one with an aftermarket turbo put in it, some dude traded it in after working on it and I ended up talking dealer down to 7k with 30k miles on it, gets about 35-40mpg, and that turbo makes a ton of difference, regular old corolla is a lul 0-60 in 9 secs, after all the stuff done to mine I think the last test it was getting 0-60 in 6-7, big difference, and its extremely comfortable, to all you asses saying its not -_-
The S trim, aero kit, and spoilers for a corolla is like an oxymoron. You might as well give it a 17inch alloy wheel option. The biggest downside is the interior: the instrument design feels antiquated like a 90s ford and the plastic is hard as hell..gives me a cringe just thinking of using the radio. Toyota really needs to modernize the interior to better compete with the Civic by offering more useful interior options and less of those silly "sporty" exterior body trims.
Are you kidding my brother bought one its nice around town but try to accelerate it on the highway its gutless. Ill stick with a better car like a ford.
haha yeah that 'womens car' comment definetly stung a bit. Im a guy and i swear by corollas. Mine is just a 94, but i know it has more heart than 90% of the other cars out there, and i plan on getting a newer model soon
If the Corolla's primary buyer is women, then there's a lot of smart women out there. It's got to be one of the best cars you can buy for the price.
I'm a guy who bought one specifically for the great gas mileage. My 2005 Corolla S with 5-speed manual trans. gets 35.5 city and 41 hwy. (I've tested the mileage myself). Only a hybrid can beat that. I've now had the car for 4 years. Only 1 very minor complaint. Door weatherstrip tends to freeze to body if hard freeze follows snow-melt or rain.
I don't know why pointing at the Corolla only, what about the new Jetta and the old one, the Eclipse. Those people say are girls cars but I see a lot of guys behind the wheel.
Complete womans car. I was so embarrassed to be driving one today. The seating and steering wheel position you can tell was designed to be driven by small women. Definitely not very comfortable for a guy like me.
Just turboed my wife's 07 corolla. Haha, talk about quick.

With manual you can exceed 180 km/h. 110 milles/h with not that much effort.
