  • Awesome. :-)

  • this will be played at my funeral

  • Wow. I never realized how quick it was. Time seems to slow down when we play this in the stands.

  • 34,347 views 176 likes 0 DISLIKES thats what i call perfection

  • Damn u autocorrect. I meant to say would've, not wouldn't.

  • @Barisaxalltheway lol Josie wouldn't cried if u it's hadn't failed at the last football game this year.

  • @barisaxalltheway yeah man

  • same arrangement as my high school band :) i wish we did it justice like these guys...

  • I can now die happy.

  • it gives me goose bumps every time.

  • highest goosebumps to views ratio on the internet.

  • makes me cry :(

  • This is why DCI would be smart to ditch the Bb and bring back the G. DCI no longer has any unique identity. This recording is absolute proof that anything on a G can compete with any Bb.

  • @drbcrb Quite impossible for DCI to do that now, although I'd love to see world class corps with G bugles someday. Maybe if another billionaire comes along and revives Star as it was back in 1993?

  • Made me cry. Haha.

I wish I could play brass:(

  • i love how even though phantom is a drum corps, they can sound like an inside band.

  • I. LOVE. PHANTOM. PERIOD.

  • The mellophones almost sound like bassoons.... and they are all in tune!

  • @Lufbery17 Well of course they are, there in freaking PHANTOM REGIMENT

  • @Lufbery17 Until they start to wail. Then they sound like an amazing mellophone line, but no surprise there, it is Phantom.

  • I just crapped myself

  • Hell yeah

  • There is most definitely a reason that this video does not have a single dislike.

  • @XxMechryuxX Its videos like this that make me know I picked the right corps to play with this summer

  • This has 0 dislikes for a reason.

  • Please excuse me while I change my pants.

  • This Video never gets old. I listen to it all the time...

  • wooo! 100th like. lol

Phantasmic.. and I thought playing Danny Boy with Vanguard at auditions in 09 was amazing.. I can only imagine how this felt. *shivers*

Who needs bagpipes? I still don't understand...

  • Volume at 100% for intended effect

  • so who else thinks those mellophone notes at 1:40-1:44 that cut through everything are absolutely delicious?

  • I want them to play this at my funeral!!

  • Ya same here!! That would be the best sendoff ever to man!! Go PR!!

  • Me too!!! That would be the most AWESOME way to go. I love PR!!!

  • I get goosebumps every time I hear this!

  • So So Beautiful!!! Listen to it over and over again and it never gets old! Bagpipes got nothing compared to this! Go Regiment!!

  • My old band director was one of the trumpets in this... =)

  • I love this. Absolutely love it.

  • I play the trumpet and this is the most amazing thing I have heard in my whole life no doubt.

  • Beautiful absolutely beautiful.

  • o geez...chills much

  • I have heard the song amazing grace like 40 billion times in life, but its like listening to it for the first time....

  • love it.

  • that Low brass is just Orgasmic!!! diggin' the hell out of the high brass too! '92 was G Bugles w/ 3 keys right?

  • A M A Z I N G

  • this arrangement of Amazing Grace by PR never ceases to give me pause. the Phantom Regiment sound is simply unsurpassable. hearing them play this is truely a spiritual experience!!!

  • totally worth getting yelled at because it was too loud

  • I've listened to this about 30 times in a row, and it hasn't gotten old yet

  • BREATHTAKING! This is NOT just a hornline, but rather a 72 piece Brass Choir! I've had the Priviledge of standing in the middle of the semi-circle while they played this LIVE, & their simply aren't words to convey what an incredible experience that is! It was during the 1992 DCI World Championship tour while I was on Support Staff with the RAIDERS Drum & Bugle Corps who were based in Bayonne NJ at the time. (They're out of Wayne NJ, now) Still brings goosebumps & a tear every time I hear it!!

  • Does anyone know who arranged this heavenly sound? It brought tears to my eyes and passion into my heart. At 1:28, I think I met God!

  • recorded in '92... still on G bugles... wow.

  • Two things I want at my funeral. 1 Phantom playing Amazing Grace 2. A Brass Band playing Elsa's Procession to the Catherdral with Phantom...band style version of it. We die and enter heaven and it is a wedding feast so it all fits.

  • Power beyond explanation. Worthy of a god.

  • Wow. At the hit starting at 1:28, the sops sound like bagpipes and the low brass sounds like an organ!

  • this literally brought tears to my eyes...amazing.

  • mellephone at 1:40? G O R G E O U S . . .

  • My band director would play this before we would go to perform to inspire us or whatever its beautiful and sounds amazing when you hear it on a sound system like the one in that band room

  • this is just absolutely great. i love phantom. this song really shows how beautifully they can play. anything pr plays sounds amazing

  • WOW....simply beautiful

  • When i first found this recording i listened to it nonstop for about a week. Now the link is on my favorites bar haha... such a beautiful version of Amazing Grace. Even better than bagpipes, and i've heard a lot of good bagpipe versions. Thank you so much for putting this up!

  • wow. im in corps and i absolutely love PR......does anyone have the sheet music to this?!

  • Does anyone know where I can get the score for this arrangement? Or perhaps the composer of this arrangement? I don't care if I have to pay for it, I HAVE TO SEE IT.

  • i have the mp3 if you want it

  • could you send me the mp3?

  • Comment removed

  • You can use Vdownloader to change it to .mp3

  • Really? Could you send it to me?

  • @schantzman87 could you send me the mp3 to this please?

  • @schantzman87 Could you please send me the mp3?

  • @mash doctor

me too but not willing to pay :( hey you could get finale and go to the showcase it should have many arrangements of this wonderful song

  • outstanding.. just amazing.

  • wow...i love phantom so much and this is just proof of how great of a hornline they have.

  • first, turn the volume up.

this makes my life. this is freaking amazing.

  • OMG i have been searching for this recording FOREVER...my conducting instructor told me it was cadets, but i knew that was wrong because the core of the sound was distinctly phantom...haha

  • Comment removed

  • @schantzman87

can you send it to me?

  • This song is what gave me my love for music and my interest in playing brass. I wonder how different my life may have been if I had never heard it.

  • Comment removed

  • Percussion. Heh, I still havn't learned brass.

  • Beautiful. <3 Phantom Regiment

  • Chills and tears, thanks for sharing :)

  • Before I played this track for my non DRUM Corps friends I always told them this was no ordinary hornline but rather a 72 piece BRASS CHOIR! It didn't turn all my friends into Drum Corps fans, but it DID coax a tear from a few eyes, including my own every time! At the very least, I think it helped some of my friends understand my devotion to and Passion for the activity!

  • O U T S T A N D I N G

  • Too good for words. LONG LIVE DCI!!

  • I get the chills everytime I listen to this version of Amazing grace. Just Amazing! Thank God there are people like this out there, who can make instruments sound sooo perfect and pure

  • I wish every drum corps would make CD's.

    I would buy them.

    All of them.

  • SO DO I SO DO I!!!! I LOVE EM!!!

  • Where Can I get my own copy of this?

  • i wish it was louder. The first time i heard this was from my percussion instructor

  • Then turn your volume up.

  • This was recorded during the 1993 season. Recorded inside a high school auditorium believe it or not. I was a member of the pit that summer and we got to sit in the auditorium as it was being recorded. Fire of Eternal Glory was recorded there as well. It was all done for the DCI Ornaments in Brass CD that was released at Christmas that year. I had goosebumps all summer. What a hornline! Best summer of my life.

  • Such an enthralling brass sound...

  • Where was this?

  • That was a glorious rendition. I'm a lifelong Blue Devils fan, and when I heard Phantom won the whole bag of marbles last year, I was completely unsurprised. In entire agreement, but completely unsurprised. I felt it was long overdue justice served. Machine 2006, Spartacus 2008, Garfield Cadets redefining the activity in 1984...you can take the boy out of drum corps, but you can NOT take the drum corps out of the boy. This is how it should be.

  • Are you kidding me? I am an alumni of the 27th Lancers and NorthStar..this piece just moves me beyond words.

  • Much better than a bagpipe, its actually in tune

  • Every DCI fan should be able to experience this, Cavies "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", SCV's "Send in the Clowns", and Colts' "Morning"

  • what about simple gifts?

  • goosebumps....every. time.

  • This was great, when was this?

  • Doesn't get any better. Truly amazing.

  • Beautiful, one of my favorite songs by my favorite Core

  • Great, great, great stuff.

  • Absolutely Gorgeous.

I love the part where it crescendos.

    I love this

  • Yeah! And, believe it or not, a small thing like the meter change from 3/4 to 9/8 during the crescendo gets me! I don't know why, I just think it's awesome!
