try going to the Eather all you need is to make a square just like the Neather portal but with glowstone .

then get a bucket of water and pour it in the glowstone and there you have it you got the eather portal

batclone if you are in the guild and go to the gravel path to the right at the guilds entrance/exit and go to the end of the gravel path and go a tiny bit to the right at the right corner of the guild and keep going forward you should find one of the vilages that have been destroyed and it will have alot of fire and there will be nether rack

It's called the smart moving mod it allows you to sneak under 1 block climb up to 3 blocks dive swim with cool graphics slide and charge jump to go 2 blocks high! And a lot more too!

Make a roof over your house/lumber yard out of glass. Connect it to the top of the mountains. That way a lot of light can still get in and you'll be protected from mobs at night.

Also it'd just be like 100x easier to go into a florest and just chop all the trees... I did that for like 45minutes with the timber mod, and got about 2 large chests full with wood and about 20 stacks of saplings, and the sapling I was just picking up as I passed by them.
