Problems with Krav Maga : 1) VERY VERY technique heavy thousands of techniques a different one for any type of hold or grab, knife attack, etc. Many unrelated e.g. defending against sticks or clubs spear around hand defence to block it, other ones grabbing weapon, etc = lot different too much to think about in real fight! 2) NEVER EVER seen even one great Krav Maga guy - as in amazing attributes - speed, power, etc = why do you think that is??? KM won't make you great! Not possible.
@perkristianbern please watch this video of me : watch?v=qSfi4j9vsPE (add to address here). Start I am speaking in German briefly , then rest is in language you can understand. All clear now I hope?
@OfficialRPD correctomondo = Systema is BS made up to con very gullible Americans & Europeans like you! Look at top guy Mikhails waistline - slight clue he doesn't train too hard? Techniques he teaches go do them in UFC if they really work earn some money.
@OfficialRPD I have looked into the Russian SYSTEMA, and to be honest, about
the only thing useful I found in it was being relaxed during a fight, and the concept of freedom of movement. For example ; if a person leans on a door, and someone from the other side -opens the door...then the person leaning against the door will fall. So systema teaches monement. If someone grabs you, do not give them support. This is useful.
i do love number 3 with cutting face with own knife I do this alot my self in training works a treat. and @stillmattwest i think the turn to opponent is ment to be a run away not an continue of a fight with combative.
Whoa, okay. Former cop and current army combatives instructor here: DO NOT turn your back on an armed opponent who has just demonstrated that he wants to kill you! Sure, you just hit him a bunch, but there are some tough individuals out there and adrenalin does a lot. Getting knifed in the back can ruin your whole day.
cool video, not a true representaion of how to defend against a knife attack, but looked nice for a movie maybe. Why would you ever strike before you actually have control of the weapon? this goes against all common sense. This all requires too much timing, accuracy and fine motor skills. This video shows a static attack, in real life the attcker does not stop and striking the head not always that effective. Gain true control then use tactical violence as necessary.
I do not know that much about this system but I think your statement is 100% correct. If the knife is what the attacker is using to attack you with, then not controling the knife (the wrist that holds the knife) is putting the defender in greater risk of being knifed. If the attacker is close enough for the defender to strike then they are close enough to knife them. Control the knife/wrist with the knife then go on the attack, so I think. Osu
@1banryukyu Yes this is typical Krav Maga you see in the U.S. I sorta think it is "old school" Krav Maga. I think the Israeli's have seen the error of their ways with this concept (extreme violence, without control) and have greatly improved upon it, atleast that is my experience training with legit Israeli military instructor. The concepts I was taught were to establish acual control first then use tactical aggression. We put it to the test live and we found it more effective.
Exactly for the reason you stated, you should not go for the control first. If attacker does multiple fast stabs with recoil it is very hard to time the grab to control the wrist. This is why Eyal is using body defense (moving to the side) and hand defense (with a forearm to deflect the stab) first and fast counterattack as fast as possible which disorients the attacker. Along with forearm control (hook motion with his left hand) for easier knife control afterwards.
Also note, that is the attacker is stronger than you, going for control without making him disoriented first with counterattacks is very hard, almost impossible. Try grabbing wrist of someone who is moderately stronger than you. Defending against stronger opponent is key point in Krav Maga.
@TheKitchenPeople This is where I think you may be off a little. The key is position, body mechanics and leverage. Size and strength are not that hard to over come when these principals are aplied. We do this daily in training. You never go force against force u accept and direct energy. Striking is for the purpose of improving position. U say stun, well if u can stun them they can stun u. Being in the "impact zone using violence is not sound strategy. A static partner is not reality.
@TheKitchenPeople If you want to rely of superior aggression, violence and physical attributes wthen you are taking a big risk. A lot of these defenses are with a staic opponent, not a real fluid situation. Why? because they have a high failure rate as they violate sound combat principals. "Control, thentacticl aggression. This is what as been proven by the Israeli's to be most effective. A lot of Krav Maga out there is not that close to what is being done by the top Israeli instructors.
the first time, the knife actually falls out of the attacker's hand, however, the rest of the time, he allows the attacker to walk away with the knife. why on earth would he do that when he could easily peel the knife from the attacker's hands.
This is not so good. The second time you did the demo you let his hand go and kicked. The knife almost ripped your leg open. Watch out! You better hit his head and go to the outside and break his ellbow locking his arm and bring him to the ground with a foot sweep.
This defence works really well. Me and my brother spent 10 minutes trying to stab each other with a rubber knife. No matter how hard we tried, the knife never made contact.
@dlvt79 Actually, Chainofdefense is absolutely right. Stab the opressor, cut him or get the knife is crucial to enhance the probability of escaping alive. The way he did it doesn't squares out the possibility an probability that the opressor, will come back and chaces the victim...with the knife. It it you who comes to say bull here, not him.
@dlvt79 we were talking about an opressor, I don't recall a "trained opressor". The fact that you have a knife doesn't mean ur skillful with it.If it is a trained one, you are right, it is extremely unlikely that you can take the knife from him, or get out.
@AndrePaisVieira Btw i dont believe that there are many people in earth that they can do something against a good fighter with the knife with empty hands. There is no defence against an expert.Run or take something to hold.Everything else is for the possibility to be ignorant the one who holds the knife.
this guy is no master he learned KM some Where but its full of mistakes
