Hello! What you use to record the cello? I'm also a cellist and i'm trying to make a few videos but it never sounds as good as the real thing. I tried to capture the sound with a Zoom H2 and with the mic from a videocamera but it really sounds bad. Thanks.

@thumpco The same reason drummers/rock guitarists wear ear plugs. If you've heard a cello up close, they're very loud instruments and he's in an enclosed space. Prolonged play can cause someone who's exposed to go deaf or at the least cause tinitis (ringing in the ears) It could also be he's listening for music cues since he's playing this piece in several distinct parts.

@Averant um... Have I heard a cello up close? It's possible considering I play one. I think your wrong about the loud instruments, you can play softly or loudly, he probably just has the music playing in his ears so he doesn't get lost.

It's great, but especially when you have the solo, try to put more energy and feeling in it, that's my only 'complain', because it's great for the rest, but the solo bothers me a bit. Compare the way you play the solo with apocalyptica, and you will understand what I mean.

I'm a guitar player (wannabe) and two things: 1) I admire the multitracking - it's not easy to overdub 4 tracks and keep them in sync... 2) I love how he never looks at his hands, that needs some extra practice/talent to do... Well, comapring to all the poor guitar players wo always have to check what fret they're at...
