Hi carlitoo2001,

There is a technique called NBT that you can generate boosts through extended slides. This is used to cut sand and grass to achieve faster times.

This vid was done with an emulator to provide a vision of an approximate limit on the track using save states

On the SNES (US Japanese version) the actual World Record is a mid 56 seconds, and 58"3x on PAL.

I have a video of my British Record using old style jumping round corners at 1:00.99, check it out aswell.

Getting under one minute without cheating is by no means impossible. I have done it on my game many times, and theres also websites that actually keep track of WR's for this game.

The world record for this map is 52.7 seconds and was completed with Bowser! It was done by a Canadian in 1994.

This person however, hit a few too many green pipes and then did not slow down for this to be real... Shame on them.

Also... you can get a boost off the start in the SNES version... Just press the accelerate button right as the first light turns green and beeps!!!

MillencolinSweetMuz had it right, the kart speeds up when you hit the dirt, but it plays the sound of it slowing down. Clever but why bother cheating? If you're shit dude just practice.
