The birkin bag is named after Jane Birkin, the actor. Who complained about her bag when she was on the same flight as the chair of birkin.
Then they designed a bag that Jane birkin wanted.
The Kelly bag you are talking about the Sac à dépêches bag, which was renamed to kelly. Which has nothing to do with the birkin bag.
