3 people are complete morons. They must have not been around during this time. I love the fact that Prince is all over this song. None of it matters now but it was definitely a bone of contention back then. Who wrote it, why Prince jacked it, all of that. I'm just glad I was there in the moment. The whole scene was cool and those that were there were lucky to be a part of it.
Prince is great but on the other hand an arrogant control freak. All the credit for this album practically go to him and the revolution because the time space to play a single note when they were a great and able band.
lisa didn't write this song ya'll...prince did...he gavde her the credit but jamie starr (which is prince) got all the credit...he gave morris writing credits as well. : )
Nowadays it's pretty much ''i got bitches in this club.they ass is so tight..i fuck 'em till they drop..then i let them lick my lollipop''....im 16 and ashamed to be part of my generation....sure there are artist's that dont produce such lyrics but their music still sounds crap. period.
@LBJTV Dude, what was just funny.... you could write a song... but yeah, you're right, you kinda caught the bad generation of music, I was a child of the 80's and we had it made with the music scene.
@desmondlewissmith Tell me about it!~ I was a teen in the 80's tons of real music from different genres. I tell my daughters that they are getting robbed by today's music industry! Today's music is wack!
@MrMallymal68 Its not just us being "old" either. I right with ya'll class of 83. It might sound bitter, but to me society went to hell in 1984. C'mon ya'll we had general hospital! We had it all!!!!
It took me a minute to find this song. I had heard it on one of the NPG radio shows, and I was like this has Prince written all over it lol. I love it! What I didn't know, is that it was writtien by Lisa about her vibrator :)) The music is very Prince ish so, I'm gonna say he wrote the music. Plus I can hear him in the background.
if this isnt PRINCE funkin around ill give my left one...Damn you can hear him on the backing vocals....THE TIME = P R N .....this is his Sunday lunchtime project.....NEXT!!!
How can anybody dislike this classic the TIME is one of the greatest band to every live and make music!!! the" STICK" and "GET IT UP "remind me of beautiful summer's and pinball machines in the musical unique 80's!!!! p.s. this was the shit back in MOTOWN!!!

One of the best funk bands of the '80s. Too bad Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were fired by Prince, but what was Morris Day's loss was R&B's gain......ask Janet Jackson, Alexander O'Neal, Cherelle, and the S.O.S. Band for starters!
