Hi guys I was struggling for 2 days with no luck with service mode.I mean psp sent all commands but didn't shut down psp so service mode didn't work,I read that many users got simillar problem...but I got solution....its psp kernel to blame.When I was on psp 6.35 custom it worked partially as I mentioned before,so I was a bit frustrated,then I used some software to create my battery as pandora battery then downgrade to 5.33 and It's working flawlessly.

look into the device known as e3 flasher. costs $, otherwise wait a few weeks until a release comes. for 3.73.

my cfw on my psp is Prometious-4 and someone said it worked on that.

it worked but it didnt work...I got it to say the thing and it said it was done but all it did was boot into the xmb normally and it said its a unknown device

@1Sandwitch1 Im still having issues. It still keeps booting normally even though I did it right. It doesnt ever shut off by its self....I dont know wtf Is wrong. Am I suppose to be on "ofw" 3.55? Because I'm on cfw 3.55. And I don't want to go back to ofw just to get this working.

I just would like to let everyone knows its working on my 40GB PS3 Phat with Firmware 3.55.I had to try it about 20 + times though.You gotta be quick about it as well whe you press the buttons.Be patient guys.

UPDATE SOLVED: I have a 60 GB FAT PS3 with a PSP FAT running 3.90 M33-2 and kept running into the exact same problem as everyone else(PS3 just boots normally with unrecognized device). All along I would press the power and eject button in succession. However if you hold down the power button and quickly press the eject button(while waiting for the first beep and still holding power), that did the trick. 3.41 here I come again...

As many others have said, after trying this dozens and dozens of times it always just boots straight to the PS3 menu. It doesn't shut off at the point that it should. Again, this is after trying it literally dozens of times in each of the different USB ports (just to be sure). I'm using a CECHH01 if that makes any difference.

my psp does the jig challenge etc... but my ps3 doesn't power off and just goes to the xmb. is this a bug and should i keep trying over and over? has anyone else had this issue?

My PS3 CECHL01 80GB phat is booting with red screen of death. After several attempts at formatting the PS3 drive, reflashing OFW, etc etc, I ran the jig app on my PSP 5.03 CFW. I could see the PSP responding to the service mode challenge, but my PS3 will still boot showing the red screen of death. Do you know if a console with RSOD can be booted into service mode?

@JPUSCH94 It's a known bug where the program sometimes just doesn't work. The only known workaround is to keep trying until it decides to start working.
