Thats because the water is always yuck!!!!!!!!!!!! lmao glad i moved from there! I lived in Hawaii and you cant compare it with IB. i hate that beach!
I may not have been born in IB but I've spent the majority of My life there, was raised from My childhood all the way to My adulthood in it, I've been through good and bad times throughout My life here, we may not be the biggest city in the world, we may also get flack about polluted waters, but to Me My family and the rest who live here it's our home and our little city and I'm proud to still be living here for all these years.
Hey-what about Woodies Waterfront Patio Bar? Last time I checked Woodies was south of the Plank and west of the Forum. Think about that! We need some drinkers with portable GPS units providing Lat/Lon. (710 Seacoast Drive, 2nd floor)
I live in Spring Valley and whenever I drive down to IB, my cell phone provider always sends me a text message saying that I'm in Mexico. XD Does anybody else get this when they're in IB??
@moonhaunt lol, anyone who has a cell phone that lives in IB has signals from their american carrier (if that is what they use) -- i've only ever had the problem like a few times at the beach, with verizon, i think. it's connected me to a similar mexican carrier, don't remember the name anymore.
live in 682 Seacoast from 1999 to 2001, used to body board at night witht lights from the pier, since my pad was literally connected to the plank, i saw many many fights in the middle of the night, don't forget the crazy drunks that play basketball on the beach too, that's always fun
Jesus you look the same, wow its like buying my first peralta from you when the shop was on the ave. I cant believe how good you look brother. Nice to see you even if its not in person. Holy Smokes!!!
If it wasn't for the happy snappy promotion people won't come and spend their money at the mom and pop's and whatever so it doesn't hurt. Obviously, it's still doing beautifully. IB is where I grew up with my mom and brother's and we all moved out and everyone is slowly migrating back. IB rules.....
actually half of 15th is in san diego as in if you are on the west side and you cross the street to the east side you crossed from imperial beach to san diego :)
I miss that place. I lived there from 1989 to 1993, moved back in 1996 and lived there til 2003. Even though I live 10 miles northeast in CV, I'd gladly give it up here to move back there.
Sadly, I understood that, through all of the bad grammar and spelling...but yeah, it might as well be in Imperial Beach! It's, wat, 30 steps away? It's just plain unreasonable to say it does'nt reside in I.B., stubborn.
Pretty much everything past Rally's isn't part a of I.B. That's why there's a "Welcome to Imperial Beach" sign right by AutoZone on Palm and 7/11 on Coronado Avenue.
Just my opinion, but you really ought to consider not critiquing spelling when your own isn't quite up to par either.
ugh I AHTE IT WHEN PEOPLE PROMOTE my town. i live here, and i do NOT like tourists. k? k. sheesh, stupid old people are telling other old people to invade ib!
Good ol' IB... we will be back in Feb 08 for the whole month! It'll be great to see it again. I lived there from 57 to 2005 (off and on)...and can't wait to browse the thrift stores again!
Wow, the town I grew up in... Moved there in 1962 and left in 1981. When I was there it was mainly known for bikers, surfers, and drugs. Much cleaned up now, my family still lives there.
I moved there in 1950. Went to Southwest Jr. High and Mar Vista High. It was teeny tiny back then. In 1953, I lived in an apartment right on the beach, which he calls "Millionaire Row." Of course, it wasn't then. :-)
I used to live there in the mid 80s. It was kina rough back then, but it had character. The video is nicely done- I am gonna be back there for a weekend in early Sept to see my mom who still lives there 4 blocks from the beach, a short walkd to Ye Olde Planke. ARRRRRGH!
I once caught a 10 pound Brown Trout right off the pier!!
Without a hook.... bahahaha!!!

The real question is not which is the most southwesterly bar, but which is the best coffee shop in IB. It's International Blends all the way!!!!

@mbird1979 No way it's Katy's cafe all the way...;)

I grew up in Imperial Beach and love my Hometown. I spent many summer days on this beach and had tons of parties as well. God Bless I.B.

I love IB. No other way to say it. It's purely a locals beach. As for the debate, nothing against IB Forum but Ye Olde Plank Inn is THE place.

Imperial Beach has a charm all it's own. Great video. Come back in July and film the U.S. Open Sandcastle. Next year will be the 28 th annual event.
