  • This song actually made me cry.. really amazing...

  • I used to think I was the most anal person about my tuning until I watched Andy play live. Now I don't even play guitar anymore. I mean, with Andy out there, there's really no point in even trying anymore

  • @batman0466 That's exactly what Andy did when he listened to his heroes such as Don Ross and Michael Hedges. He stopped playing guitar.

All joking aside it might interest you to know that Andy played 7 hours a day back in his teens. You have the wrong attitude. You don't enjoy guitar if you don't like playing. These guys are mean't to inspire you like Andy's heroes inspired him to keep playing.

  • @MrFaulconbridge I was joking...

  • wow....i can feel the emotions in it...

i wonder ...how did he come up with this song?

  • Amazing

  • when she cries so beautiful :) :)

  • This really begins at 2:21

    That section is beyond words.

  • Andy Mckee is farking amazing! 5 frigging stars!

  • seriously touches my soul

  • I love this song. It makes me feel like I'm in a hobby lobby or something. haha

  • The fast part at the end sounds influenced by the Michael Hedges composition "The happy couple"

  • Dude.....

    It's just ridiculous....

How can someone play THAT MUCH...

IT'S JUST AMAZING, I've got his songs, they're just THE BEST that ever was!!

I've never head a better piece of music art like that before. It's more than amazing...

    C'mon...

  • one of the greatest guitarists to ever live.

  • i love his style! what is it like folk classical

  • fingerstyle

  • i like finger style ;)

  • so beautiful... just closed my eyes to get all of it... thanks for shareing !

  • I met Andy in 2006. Pretty cool experience, but it is only in hindsight that I realize how amazing that was. I actually went mainly to see a local play, Trace Bundy. After I met Mckee, Dufour, and Turnbull (it was all 4 in one show), I looked them up on myspace and youtube and Mckee has become one of my favorite guitar players since. I didn't even know what I was looking at at the time.

    Amazing!

  • did he explain the meaning of this song at all?

he did for most songs at the gig i was at!

Sorry im just dyin to know the meaning of this song!

  • wait did he just gain a lot of weight or lose it? cause in his other videos he's a pretty big guy but here he's a lot thinner. Brilliant dude either way.

  • He lost it I believe. His other videos are older...

  • why the thumbs down... he lost WEIGHT. and goods good... you can that by his past videos where he was a pretty big guy.

    thumbs up for andy's health!

  • I saw Andy mckee4 days ago in Germany. It was awsome. I shook his hand xD

  • SERIOUSLY!?!? Dude! You have been blessed with andy's hand powers! Use them wisely O_O !!! But for the love of god play the guitar :OO!!!

  • yea serieusly xD. And I play the guitar. I want to go to a conservatore when im out of school just to study the guitar xD. so I hope his hand gives me the ultimate guitar power xD

  • I met him the other night and he hugged me!!:D ever since ive gotten savage at the guitar! lol

  • MY GOD this must've been so MAGICAL live...

  • ok ive finally seen andy do the fast part on video

i still dont think its possible

he obviously is hacking or something >_>

  • At least he isn't lagging.

  • with Andy Mckee, nothing's impossible.

  • its all triplets dude with a moving bass line and honestly not as hard to pull off as it sounds! get your index and middle finger alternating on the 1st string then use your thumb to get the bassline. a nice technique all the same!

    ^_^

  • if you buy the sheet music from his website, you'll find that the figure played over the bassline always has one note on the e string and one on the b, so you don't have to alternate. Middle on e, index on b

  • thanks for that lobster, i didn't buy the sheet music! i'll go back to it and give it a shot...

    ^_^

  • Reminds me of my favorite girl, Rachel Lee.

  • did someone drop a plate about 4 seconds in or something ?

  • some dip shit on the table just behind dropped his drink! lol

  • haha..

you can actually hear a cellphone's signal static at about 2:30

  • how is the part at 2:30 even possible????

    -_-

    thanks for uploading the vid

now i have proof that this actually is possible

  • i dont understand...

    the finger picking part?

  • yeah, but he plays the higher strings incredibly fast

this is the only video ive seen of him doing it

  • that isn't too difficult...he does a sort of tremolopicking..which means you pick the 1st string with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers, quickly. Instead, he uses the 2nd and the 3rd finger..

  • Its not exactly tremolo picking, but similar! Tremolo picking is succession of four notes(Commonly in groups of four(Semi-quavers or 16th notes));a bass note and then three of the same melody note. The pattern in this tune is triplets, A bass note(which he moves around and acts as the main melody) and then the 2 thinnest strings played in succession. Hope that clears that up :)

  • not too difficult, eh? lol.

  • isn't easy, but isn't TOO difficult :D

  • Im in love with this song! Great job andy love love love it!!!!

  • Andy McKee is amazing. I want to see him live so friggen' bad. I look up to this man.

  • la primera vez que ohigo esta cancion tocada originalmente por andy mckee

  • This reminds me of watching Sting performing Roxanne, live at the The Secret Policeman's Other Ball in 1982, I was 12 and even though my mom was sreaming at me to come eat dinner I stayed there, frozen, realizing what a "God given talent" really means.. to the core.

  • Love you for stealing my phone for this btw :D x

  • Damn what phone did you have?...

  • i used his phone to balance my camera on lol

  • Ohhhh XD Nice job! ^_^"

  • What a song! I was there, front row, ON THE TABLE!

  • the same table as me!! funny that eh?!?!
