Deltatry is a tough boss if you don't know what you're doing. His pattern is easy enough to avoid though. Stay at the bottom of the screen and most of his attacks will never hit you on higher loops.

but the true bravery/challenge starts if the player tried to face the most of it's attacks head on which is really entertaining to do against it ^^

@aliultimate009 HA! Yeah, exactly! XD I remember Deltatry and Juggler Core used to give me so much trouble, though. And it was only until recently that I found out concentrating fire on only one Triple Core is a bad thing. XP Their second pattern is so hard to dodge for me.

if you played higher loops deltatry will use blue capsules ( they don't explode as you know ) and moving faster with more rapid fire lasers ^_^

the reason why i think he is harder is because deltatry takes it easy on you in the first loops - but in higher loops he becomes your worst enemy if you give it more chances to attack X(

just keep practicing & watching others battling ways against it then you'll easily sometimes without your realizing - automatically finding the safest spots & fastest ways to kill them X3

@crapheadandidiot it just needs your memorization to get rid of there repeated attacks but only different spots depending on where you place your ship to deal with them ^_^

if you're highly focused on that , you'll be surely able to beat them with no worries ^^

maybe because you didn't played other Gradius games enough to be prepared for the surprises in this game or didn't played other shmups for the same reason ^_^

sometimes getting experienced from other shmups helps you to deal with the rest if you've realized on how the most of the shmup games tricks you ^_^

the reason why i'm very sure of these because that's what actually made me very careful & highly prepared for any of these tricks in any new shmup to quickly realize it ^_^

Hey, I was playing this just the other day, and I usually use Jade Knight. So, as I'm playing, a friend of mine comes up to me, sees I'm using Jade Knight and just says "Why are you using that thing? It's so retarded..." He's only ever seen videos of the game and Lord British is his favorite. I bet if he played the game he'd realize his mistake, but he's being ignorant about it.

No, because that wouldn't have proven that Jade Knight was better than Lord British. I wouldn't have if I was just going for the impressive factor, but I was trying to prove a point.

Although Falchion Beta beats even Vic Viper, in my opinion.

ok back to the 4 ships ^_^

i've actually played all of them and after nearly 2 years of Gameplay i've finally discovered that all of them were even in strength because i've used them on all stages ^_^

Gradius team had meant to do that to fit your Gameplay style ^_^

i'll prove it to you in just a minute ^_^

the falchion beta ship is powerful only against straight attacks then in a short time the gravity balls detonation timing will be shorten each time the attacks goes in one spot ^_^

but it's not the strongest all around other ships because :

Vic Viper : is a balanced ship when you used on all situations when directed in one target but it's attacks are medium power ^_^

Lord.british : is a wide range attack ship because it got 2 way missiles to attack from above and below the ship ^_^

and it also got ripple laser which gets wider each time it goes farther but not very strong in attack ^_^

while it has dis-raptor weapon which can get through most of the enemies ships but not in the walls it's the weakest attacking weapon in it because it doesn't gives too many damage ^_^

and last is jade knight : it's the weakest ship in attacks power but very useful for all round attacks when round laser is being used ^_^

and about pulse laser it's the weakest attacking weapon but next >>

but useful when directed in one target while it doesn't gives a very tough damage but it's power is matched with the machine gun but it's wider which it can be also called ( wider machine gun ) ^_^

oh and i've forgot one thing left about falchion beta ^_^

it's true that the auto aiming weapon can lock on the targets 180 degrease but it can't reaches farther than vic viper ^_^

so in the end all of the ships is balanced in strength by Gradius team ^O^

they were genius on doing it in this way ^O^

oh and about the spread bombs .... it's only the toughest weapon in jade knight among all other ships which can makes it balanced with them in strength ^_^

To be honest, Lord British relies on brute power (some say and I have observed, that the Disruptor is powerful, despite being unwieldly at times) and I see where he's going with that.

The only bad thing I can say about Jade Knight is that the Twin Laser doesn't seem to be as powerful as the regular laser.

the reason is because Gradius team had balanced every fighters powers very directly that it's not important which ship you play but the thing is how you pilot it ^_^

Which in turn, makes it able to attack with
