i am watching these passes and plays and I can honestly conclude that Montana, Marino, Favre and Elway were in a class all their own. True leaders and guys I would pick if it was 2 minutes left in a game. Brady has got nothing on these guys.
@Crisgo3d If you need a touchdown with 2 minutes to go, you take Montana, Marino, or Elway. If you want a stupid interception to blow the game you take Favre. Don't put him in that class.
Great game and vintage dan marino playing at his best but maybe it would've been better if he would've lost and be spared the 62-7 beat down the week after.
@MrJulius3395 yes I remember that game very well, it was PAINFUL to watch Marino play like that. I can not believe that he retired with that beat down being his last game :(
jesus christ 3rd and 17 from their own 8??!!...then another 3rd and long, and you give them both up??!!...both??!!...to overrated QB in a wheelchair??!!
marino gets no respect for this...none!...he did nothing...horrible D!!
Always wondered if in retrospect the Dolphins would have been better off losing this game, it would have spared them the historic 62-7 beatdown in Jacksonville the following week.
Seattle backed into the playoffs in 1999. They started 8-2 ,finished 1-5, and had it not been for the Raiders overcoming a 17-0 score at Kansas City, would not of made the playoffs. They held the tiebreaker over Kansas City, beating them twice.
Marino's last win, and the final win of the disappointing Jimmy Johnson era. The best thing of all: Bill Zympher and Jim Mandich- a great broadcrasting team.
His release is the quickest, Marino is the greatest.... he's gone but the Dolphins will have there time. then everyone will follow GO MIAMI!!! got our 2nd win yesterday:)
Im 21 and i didnt start watching football until 2002 so i was only 11 years old and i only known the Seahwaks as a NFC team and Dolphins as a AFC Team, so when i saw this, i didnt know the Seahawks was part of the AFC back then. And how you use dumbass remarks like you just said makes me believe that your a fucking 12 year old troll that uses the internet 24/7. Fuckin' Dumbass lol
@BELAIRCHARGERHEMI You are an idiot. The dolphins have always been a part of the afc (since the afc existed). Seattle was in the afc through 2001 you mroon
I remember the week after this was when Miami lost 62-7 to the Jaguars. I never was a Dolphins fan, but I always thought that was such a horrible way for Marino's career to end.
@BHoz77 I was Dolphins fan then. A big part of me as a Dolphins fan died that day. That had to be the most pathetic way to go out. I no longer call myself a Dolphins fan after that game.
The old King Dome. I almost forgot that Seattle used to be in the AFC. It's been 10 years. They said this was Dan's 37th 4th quarter comeback, and only John Elway has more. I think Peyton Manning has since passed him, and maybe even Elway too in that category.
i LOVE how jim mandich is doing this the best color commentator EVER in the NFL he loved the fins so much good or bad sundays aren't the same without dan AND the maddog RIP JIM!
I remember watching this game back when I was in 9th grade, and what an amazing drive! Superbowl win or not, you'll still be the greatest #13. Go Dolphins!
@10HAPPYGILMORE If you think that you got a turd in your brain the dolphins never really gave him anything to work with his o line sucked and they let him get abused
@10HAPPYGILMORE b/c they have rings??? look at who Montana had on his team to help him, look at Brady who he has on his team to help him. They both have a good solid team that help them carry them all the way. Marino never had that, even then he was still great even w/o the weapons that Montana/brady have. If he did he'd have ATLEAST 5 rings. I would take Marino over ANY QB. Not just b/c am a dolphin fan but comparing numbers and play making skills, id choose Marino over anyone any day.
@xwhitexoutxx ... Yeah, I know you feel stupid, but don't be so hard on yourself. A lot of people probably think he's a "weapon" because he won a Super Bowl MVP a few years ago. However, if you look-up his career stats, you'll find that, even though he has a HOF quarterback, Deion Branch has below-average numbers. The guy has never even had a 1,000-yard season. The SB MVP award is nice, but it just means you had ONE great game. Hell, even Larry Brown has a SB MVP trophy. "Who?" Exactly.
@emantabrizi dude its not easy getting 1000 yards receiving in a season dip shit in case you haven't noticed theres more than ONE receiver on the field. get your facts straight. get known nuff said. peace
@xwhitexoutxx ... You are correct. It is not easy getting 1,000 yards receiving in a single season...especially for a below-average wideout like Deion Branch. Now, for a "weapon" like Randy Moss? No problem. He did it 10 times in 13 seasons. Jerry Rice? 14 out of 20 seasons. Michael Irvin? 8 out of 12 seasons. Now, this may come as a shock to your little brain, but Randy, Jerry, and Michael all played with other receivers on the field. My God, how did they ever get the ball?
I'll never forget this game. It was clear throughout the season that Marino was on his last legs. The 1999 season. I'll also never forget the game against then rookie Peyton Manning and the Colts. Manning and Marino engaged in the ultimate shootout until Marino hit a bomb and won the game in the final minute.
Been 11 long years and counting since a proud Miami Dolphins franchise mattered in the NFL. Miami was very lucky to have Griese and Marino almost back to back for so many years.

was this the final game in the kingdome??? it's also weird seeing the end zones painted blue here....i always remember the word "seahawks" in silver on a green background. as the king dome's end zone design....
The Dolphins first road playoff victory since 1972. Marino looking like the Marino of old on that last drive. Unfortunately, what happened a week later, I'd like to forget.
