i think a 1.6 Vitara would be a good starter vehicle, sometimes it's not all about raw power, skill and experience matter just as much, infact too much power can get you into more trouble!

Thats what I was getting at, my dad said the 4x4 would need to be taxed for it to be legal although I think he was asuming it was council land.

Buy a cheap 4x4 and come down, perhaps a Suzuki sj or old Land rover would be ideal,
off roading is very challenging, exciting, but above all it's fun, especially when you get together with other off roaders!

Mostly clay, rock and sand, there are some really sticky areas, but just take it easy, and make sure your with someone else, just in case!
