Remember working as a therapist at Healthsouth many years ago....daily cutbacks, salary and cont. ed.freeze, ever-expanding and ridiculous patient to therapist ratio, outdated and dilapidated equipment, forceful pressure to buy free-falling healthsouth stock, etc.

Why would someone put thimself in trouble if what they said was false? The jury was bought off in the Healthsouth trial. That is injustice. Everything that you all saw in the media and news were bits and pieces of the trial but I sat through six months of testimony and had two notebooks of notes everybody talked it out and the Governments case was pretty weak when it came to evidence. the CFO's for one all was part of a group they called the Family which had meetings every week without Scrushy the media didn't say that. and with the recordings they had two recorders on Bill Owens one of them didn't work so they had to use the other

Fired HealthSouth Corp. Chief Executive Richard Scrushy has reached an $81 million settlement to end a lawsuit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission blaming him for a $2.7 billion accounting fraud at the heath care services company.

Scrushy acknowledged no wrongdoing but agreed to give up $77.5 million that the government says he gained from the scheme. He agreed to pay another $3.5 million in civil penalties.

Richard Scrushy was found guilty by a jury of his peers. He will be sentenced to prison on June 26th, 2007. Richard disgraced Healthsouth and its employees. Richard disgraced the State of Alabama and its judicial process. Richard disgraced his family. Justice finally caught up to Richard.
