That's right dear friend !!!!! The Sonata MS 85 n° 5 consists of two movements..the first one is the so called sonata ( I should say sonatina rather than a sonata , even if the sonata's structure is absolutely respected, and a second one which is a "allegretto" and sound like a waltz ). Be happy and keep smiling !! : - )
Dear Yaka..of course this is the right original version from Paganini's Sonata MS 85 n° 5 taken from the manuscript of the Casanatense Library in Rome ( Rev. R, Chiesa - Edition Suvini-Zerboni Italy) ......Concerning your troubles to performe it ..well try to come to my next master-class I'll give in Rieti from the 1 till the 4th ofg september 2011 and will teach you ( Rieti guitar Festival). : - ))
@giograno Thank you Maestro for your comments, your playing is amazing you have great strength and flair, I wasn't trying to say you where playing the piece incorrectly. I don't know a lot about classical music I normally play rock, I was thinking maybe this was a movement from a larger piece and maybe that was why I couldn't find any other clips of it on youtube, I would love to attend your master class, but alas I live in the UK, I have always wanted to visit Italy though.
Does anybody know if this tune is named correctly here in this video? When I search on MS 85 it leads me to a completely different tune, I am learing this piece at the moment, I found it on Guitar Pro, but it's just named as Paganini Sonata. I have got down the first 4 or 5 bars, but I am struggling to master the barre across the 1st fret which is needed twice at around bar 7 and 9. I have been driving my family mad the last 3 weeks practising it incessantly.
Grazie! this really helped me out. again grazie and thanks from america!
