Were the 'riders allowed to paint all their Tomcats with the black paint? Usually only see the CAG plane and the 01 plane have color schemes. I saw the 06 plane with the ghostrider scheme.
@xTomcatsForeverVF84x Defense cuts. The squadron numbers were still in cold war numbers. Since the USSR was defunct and to save money Clinton not only cut Navy squadrons but USAF squadrons and air bases. Plus as much as I love the tomcat, it was kind of a maintainance whore. Heard sometimes it needed 3 hours of hangar time for 1 hour of flying. The parts bill was getting pretty high.

Howcome many F-14A squadrons such as VF-84, VF-21, VF-24, VF-111. VF-302 etc were disestablished during the early to mid 90's?
