  • How long did it take you to restore that tractor?

  • Love it we just restored our 12 three years ago

  • was that model air conditioned in 1967????

  • Absolutely love International tractors, I was born and raised on one and still run them to this day, they are the best tractors ever made...but loose the song "International Harvestor" which is the biggest insult to the tractor that anyone ever came up with.

You did do a fantastic job restoring this 1256...it looks awesome

  • wow, great job on the restoration

  • diesel? looks like a cummins

  • Simply beautiful !!! Always great to see a Farmall tractor being restored ! A+ on the video

  • Do you sand blast, or soda blast?

  • how much did u pay for that

  • nice job man but i am a deere man ha ha

  • what countie do ya live in i live in north centeral iowa to

  • great job i just started a little 544 hydro runs great just leaks all over and needs paint i this will be my third

  • Sweet project, looks showroom fresh at the end.

Expensive, maybe - but I bet restoring this ol' beast was a lot cheaper than buying a comparably-powerful new rig. And it's just nice to see the old iron still earning its keep.

Looking forward to the next one!

  • yah cabs are the worst to sandblast cause the sand comes right back at u and has no where to go.

  • wow each of these projects blow my mind.. all this must be expensive, do you sell the pieces you restore?

  • @eroc2689 Nope, I still have all 7 tractors I've restored (working on #8) and my brother also has 6 others. Its an expensive hobby, but one of the most fun also. Thanks for watching!

  • Man i am just here to tell you, that is one fine looking 1256 Farmall if there ever was one.Bout like looking at a girly book.U youngsters don't know nothing bout that.

  • Great tractor i live in Spokane Washington and there aint no tractor like that in junkyard only things there are junk

  • Take a bow, sir! Nice to see that you did the job properly with no sloppy-looking short-cuts.

  • beautiful restoration of one of my favorite tractors

  • I always wondered why tractors never had full floating axles, trucks from the 30s had full floating axles, why did tractors not get it until the 70s and 80s, 0:50 is a good example why they should have

  • That is a bad ass tractor. Great job on the restoration. How do you like it?

  • Hey man i love all your vids! Keep up the great work

  • is IH and farmall the same company?

  • @kramerplayer101 Yeah in a way. Farmall was almost like a sub-company or line of tracotrs from IH a marketing tactic.

  • @Farmallbarn oh ok

  • Was the top of the block milled.

  • @blackjackhp No. I used a machine straight edge and feeler gauge to make sure it wasn't too out of shape, and it turned out it was good, so I cleaned it up before I put the new head on.

  • GREAT RESTORATION!!!!!!

  • what part of iowa u boys from

  • @international1256

    North central Iowa

  • very nice

  • Beautiful work. : )

  • damn. that restorattion was awesome. the only thing that i ever done with my dad and me wus a farmall super mta and a 560. the 560 i did by myself. but i dont think that i would be abel to do sumthing that big. great job 5/5

  • I just can't get over how amazing this is. I've never been one who loves tractors but this is AWESOME!! Is there any way I can see these in real life? Like do you take these anywhere?

  • GREAT job!!!!!! Takes alot of work and dedication from start to finish. Hope you get to put it to work rather than letting it sit in a barn like i did my 47 cub.

  • You make it look easy :-)

    Awesome job man!! Shes beautiful!!

  • ya he does lol, like we agreed these old tractors are cursed!!

  • Haha definatially :-)

  • Comment removed

  • i might be english but i love the old deeres ih farmall and there country music

Nice vid mate and a job well done

    5*

  • Yep. That's just the nature of the beast...these tractors made a lot of tranny noise when they were new, and it can sound especially bad if you have a cab on it like i do. I bought an overhaul kit from a local mechanic, so I don't really know where it came from. I'm actually replacing the turbo on this tractor right now after it failed a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for watching!

  • Yea our 856 don't have a top on it! our white stipe 966 also makes alot of noise but our black stripe 966 don't ! I always liked the black tripe series the best!!

  • Weve got an 856 too! it makes alot of noise going down the rod too but its just the bull gears in the rear end!

  • What kind & brand of overhaul kit did you use? I have a 856 and I have a lot of gear noise only in 3rd and 4th gear is this a common problem? What other issues do you have with yours?

  • real cool tractor man awsome i just love international harvester tractors

  • Great looking tractor. I personally am not a fan of cabs on those tractors, but still a good looking tractor anyway. How long did it take from start to finish?

  • Yep, that was very nice.

  • great restoration, nice video

  • Sadly it wasn't cheap...around 10 grand...but thats along with the cost of the tractor which was around 4 grand, so...6-7grand.....plus many 1256's sell for 15-16 that aren't as nice, so I feel pretty good about it.

  • About how much did it cost to restore?

  • Hey, real nice restoration. I'm in the early stages of restoring an 826. You did a nice job; like the way you sandblasted the entire tractor, not just sheetmetal like most restoration jobs.

  • Calviln, great job! I am very impressed with your work. Your video is a wonderful eduction tool and you did a great job showing the step-by-step process. I teach for a living at a university and your video was first class! You really should be proud of the work you did on the 1256 plus creating an excellent video.

  • Damn that's nice!

  • Calvin, you are quickly becoming my new hero.

When can you get started on my 1957 Farmall 350 ?

  • Good job! I have an 856 that looks just like that, has the same cab with Air con. and heat .

  • another piece of red iron saved from the scrap yard its beautiful you should be proud. Never ran a 1256 but id asume its similar to a 1206 not many people restore those cabs but you did an excellent job on the whole thing not alot of these old tractors get the care they should be getting

  • Great job on the restoration. You should be very proud of the fine work that you did. Not to mention that is one hell of fine tractor to have. Thanks for saving another one from the scrapper.

  • Man, that is beautiful work. Congratulations on a real keeper. IH is the best.

  • Very informative video slideshow, but perhaps a little more viewing time of each slide would not have made the show feel so 'rushed', perhaps nearly 10 minutes long instead of condensing to 5-6 minutes.

  • Youtube has time/movie size restrictions... that could be why they're shortened up.

  • excelent work on that 12. I am going to be doing that to an 806 soon

  • Really nice, you can look my videos, i have restore a french IH, a F 137 D

  • fuckin sweet! you work like a real man

  • Excellent job, i just say damn to the guy who had it before for spoiling it like this...

  • Great Job, and you say you are bored.

  • oooooooooo soooooo pretty love that 1256.

  • song?

  • What happened to the short chrome exhaust you had on it?

  • Hey man Good job that 1256 is nice.
