Really need to work on the feet, though, esp, the working leg. Not seeing so much sickling as flapping in the breeze. Yuh, it was a good day when I could do a double! But the feet can be polished (maybe try a different shoe?), the attack taught; some of this virtuosity is God-given.

I was a dancer for years. I took ballet, but when it was time for me to advance to point, I would always fall over. Turns out that my feet are naturally turned in (or sickled). I could never be a ballerina, so I had to give up dance. :(

@LadieLola Well they weren't "sickling". They are SICKLED lol. It has to do with the bone and joint structure of my feet. I can't change it. I've always twisted my ankles a lot and pointe was causing me to do it more. I think I was doing more damage to myself than anything, so I stopped. :/

I live in mid-county in Texas and my dance school puts on a Christmas show every year called A Whimsical Christmas and this year I playe the character of Cyndi Lou Who and I had a solo to Where Are You Christmas during it and I had to do fouette's on Pointe in it. So, yes, I can do that. Kthanks!

fouettes take a ton of practice! and make sure you are practicing the right technique, if you don't practice correctly, it won't do you any good. Keep your supporting leg straight when on releve, and make sure you whip from the front to the side & from the side ---> in. Also, don't let your leg go past second position: a lot of people let it go past their second, and then you can't bring your leg into passe correctly. I HOPE this helps!

yes, i know, some people can turn really well without spotting. but that's more spinning than turning. and those people are just lucky enough to have a natural feel for their centre. and that natural turning ability usually causes them to forget about spotting. but spotting = rhythm and rhythm = good pirouette.

@xheytom spotting is part of technique, it's there for a reason. and technique is technique because it's beneficial one way or another. it's like saying fully stretching your feet doesn't work for everybody. spotting is part of rhythm and having a rhythm is what sets a PIROUETTE apart from SPINNING.

I hate how sometimes dancers criticize another dancer's video because they're jealous.  It's really easy to say someone else has horrible technique and blah blah blah, but how many of the critics could actually do it better? Constructive criticism can be good, but a lot of the comments are just mean ( @danzcuba, im talking to you). i am a dancer and i wish i could do fouettes like that. And to me her technique looked very good so awesome job! ignore the haters. =]
