i'm getting an ibanez rga8, and i was upping the strings on it going a size up. i'm going to have it tuned all the strings down a whole step, scale length is 27 inches (i believe, can't remember spot on at the moment), what string gauge would you recommend for that tuning?

I would probably go 010 with a 084 on yours.

I like my strings pretty thin and loose though :P

What gauge strings are you using? I have a seven string guitar but i want it tuned to an 8-string standard and leave out the high e-string

It has a 30" neck, so you would probably need something even thicker, I have .084 or something on my other 8-string which has a 28" scale neck.
