  • would never tell someone what to do with their recordings, but i do want to say 'thank you' for sharing...

  • AHHH! NO! NEVER PLAY THIS ALBUM. I could be worth alot more than what you originally bought it for. You should have keep it SEALED! And especially dont just play it for some stupid youtube video. I love the song, but please, next time use a regular store bought copy. AAAH! this one is now ruined!

  • @rstrong0208 whoa there! I bought this album in 1978 when I was 12, and had no notion of keeping any album sealed in plastic, or to NOT play it, even though it was a special white vinyl edition. Even though I did play this "white white album" quite a bit (as well as a standard Apple records one), it's still in good condition and I long stopped playing it to preserve whatever life it has left. I just happened to do this video for the novelty of the rather white album that it is!

  • I have a white-white album too. Its really nice to have. I havent really looked at it for a few years cause its stored away somewhere. I understand the novelty of wanting to play it. Im sure no one realized even back in the 60's some of these records might be worth something some day. Well, from the video, it really doesnt look too damaged. Im sure you've taken good care of it. It's it just the coolest thing to be a Beatle fan! Alot of great collectables and absolutely AMAZING music.

  • @rstrong0208 i know what u mean but the guy obviously bouth it to play and enjoy it :)

  • @JaemzStar *bought, sorry

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • me and my special girl call each other "piggie" :) <3

  • Dude, great album but that straight tone arm is destroying it. Those are specifically made for DJ scratching not for cherished records. It doesn't allow for the correct alignment of the cartridge and stylus so it is chewing up your grooves and causing uneven wear on your stylus. Get a nice Technics SL-1200 or something similar if you like direct drive. Check out my Harman Kardon video using the Garrard Zero 100C you'll c what I mean.

  • have you had it valued?

  • Masterpiece... Some say it should've been a single album

Hey, almost each song of this double would make a single TUDAY)

  • a have a yellow yellow submarine record

  • me and friends sang this on my nice´s second birthday

  • most beautiful white vinyl

  • 1:56 - 2:03 is the best part of this song.

  • I have one of these white vinyls for the white album too. Anyone know the value? Are they rare at all?

  • @ShoutOutOutOutOut It depends on what pressing you have.

  • @ShoutOutOutOutOut They absolutely do go for more money. Last I checked I would value it at around $60 bucks. I am basing this off multiple closing auctions on ebay. I remember trying to buy it and it was just going for too much money so I went with the standard regular edition (w/ embossed cover & no copy number) for around @ $ 20-$25. I still have a yearning in me to own this 1978 edition.

  • I love the white vinyl and the apple label.

  • The white album in white. God, it's gorgeous.

  • i havent seen this white vinyl before...

  • Ahhh George... You crazy bitch. I love you. RIP, George.

  • @csomo580 I second this.

  • that is some sexy looking vinyl...

  • The Beatles suffered of a ,king Midas´ syndrome´. Everything they´ve touched turned to a gold.

  • what a thing to suffer from.

  • even king Midas wasn´t happy to suffer from it. Maybe at the begining, until he couldn´t even eat...

  • good point ... perhaps beneath the veneer of the success and happiness that all the gold the Beatles got from their magical musical touch, it was not what made them happy -- just rich and famous but not necessary happy -- and when you're not happy you can suffer even if you are the Beatles.

  • agree exactly! it was probably this mild feeling of unhapiness what led to the breakup of the Band at least one of them the other was Yoko...

  • Lots of reasons that all led up to the Beatles' eventual breakup -- Yoko gets an unfair amount of criticism and finger-pointing as to why it happened. Sure, she had what to do with Lennon's emancipation from the group -- but all one has to do is hear the 'All Things Must Past" to know that Harrison wanted out and for him, the release of ATMP is his independence day. Heck, just really listen to the "What Album" to know how independent they were even while they were still Beatles.

  • ive already listened to the white album what a mess

  • but what a classic mess it is ... erratic and uneven but always an interesting listen ... nothing like it in rock before or after .. maybe the Stones' Exile on main St similar in it's rag-tag hodge podge-ness, but White Album is a four-headed monster pulling in four different directions, Stones always on the same blues-rock page just about all the time

  • I absolutely agree with you on your assessment of The Rolling Stones. Aside from a few outstanding exceptions such as some of the Stones' great ballads, the Stones were always quite a predictable band with their employing of Blues oriented Rock. It's quite interesting, but out of my whole record collection, another album that gives me the same sort of feeling I get when listening to the WA, is the somewhat ignored 1980 release from The Clash; Sandinista.

  • exactly

  • Due to the amount of experimentation on the album, Sandinista is also a very diverse album and marked a time of departure for The Clash, from a more predictable sound to one that encompassed several musical genres. I'm just curious to get your feedback on the matter. Thanks

  • Absolutely, "Sandinista!" was a departure album for the Clash - not to mention a very long listen -- 36 songs over 3 LPs was not something anyone would expect from a punk/new wave band in 1980 - but then again the Clash were not like anyone else before, then or now. I admit I only recently listened to all of Sandinista! when I found a used LP copy at a thrift store for $1.50 (was in fair condition, a bit beat up but playable) and I was struck by how more diverse it was than London Calling.

  • That said about how diverse Sandinista! was (reggae/dub comes to mind in some of the tracks), it still was a lot for a Clash fan to digest. There are only so many double (and triple) albums that are mostly all killer/no filler -- not sure if I would say that about Beatles 'White Album' .. but The Who 'Quadrophenia' and George Harrison 'All Things Must Pass' might just be two examples of near perfect examples - relatively consistent and listenable all the way through.

  • glad u guys understand each other

  • @rjciccone "Yoko's gonna be joining us in the studio, from now on,and if you don't like it you can......!"

    ~John Lennon 1968

  • excellent, thanks!

  • i have first 68 uk pressing

  • It is a Stanton direct drive - it is a great turntable

  • Alot.

  • How much you willing to pay ppl???

  • man, i want one of this white vynils

  • i have the white album. but not white vinyl

  • viva the beatles

  • Great song, great album

  • wow a white vinyl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you bet ... this is truly the WHITE album!

  • I have the 1978 US pressing w/ the purple capitol label.

  • I also have that on a early to mid-80's pressing with the color border design from the 60's.

  • I have the WA on that mid-80s Capitol old-style label as well - I got it at the time when I believed they were going to stop making LPs having switched to CDs and wanted a fresh clean copy with the pictures and poster.

  • @laloisaac white album...
