Really exciting technique! Thanks so much Howard. Congratulations on your clear explanations. I like the idea of all experimentation gives some sort of successful result.
I've used this technique before, but I like the texture you added. I almost use the pieced like acrylic roof shingles on my painting. Super great texture and life.
That was really good. I like the way you experiment with things to get cool effects. I am experimenting with wax encaustic on glass. I want to be able to backlight it,still messing around with it at the moment but it is possible.
I like the effect you got in the shapes. The colours have a real depth and richness. Thanks

So can this be done with Oil Paints?
And what if you don't have a gloss medium to make them glue on?

Can you put this on a canvas with an acrylic transfer on top of it?
How would you stick those pieces on the canvas if you could?
taifobchick480224 2 years ago
absolutely. gloss medium would be my medium of choice.

This was very cool. I'd never seen anything like that. You should show some of your finished pieces with it too! :)

I got the sponge roller at a home store. Home Depot or Lowes should be fine, if not try a quality paint store.

Effective technique.
Could you tell me where you can get one of those sponge rollers, or was it self made?
Cheers
