if you have any suggestions for me then plz......

  • This is so simple yet over looked. Why is it not that focus technquies are not taught at schools.. Along with permaculture.

  • Just, I liked to feel this sensation again and I can confirm that works, is like your brain requires data all time. Do you remembre the movie? Simple it's awesome! I recommend to try it at least one time, then you will have another point of view.

Please feedback me when you get it

  • Thank you for your technique, i can never concentrate and its been about a year and a half since i have this problem so i can never study. I will try your technique and feel that this might work. Thanks once again for such a great video ^^

  • Thanks for being real, and the suggestions.

  • this helped me alot, thank you :)

  • whenever going from house to office or school count your footsteps it will be difficult for a month but will increase concentration.

  • Like if you lost focus watching this video -__-

  • i like the video

  • i find myself listening to someone and i just shut off and i dont even think about anything. A good example would be that i was watching this video and at one point i had to rewind the video because i was not listening and i wasn't even thinking about anything but i was still watchin. Same thing when reading i will move my eyes along the lines but i wont even be reading it and it could take minutes before i realise! Help? I tried this but i could easily count to 10 but cant focus afterwards.

  • I like this video because you're real, I can identify. Thanks

  • I like this video because your real, I can identify. Thanks

  • nice open talk...hope it will help me..

  • Thanx a lot

  • Ironically, I'm having trouble paying attention to this video. Derp... >_>

  • Thank u very much

  • when I am doing a task, always thinking sex, sex ,women and $ then lose focus :D

  • @leon6266 yeah, that can happen...what's important is, like I say in the video, to keep going back to 1 (the breathing technique). Eventually, things will clear up for you. It may take a few tries - even a few weeks - but it will be worth it! Eventually, you will get to 2...then to 3...and one day to 10.

  • That was good. Thanks.

  • thank you so much for this technique. I am going to try this out and I'll let you know how it turned out!! :D

  • @cherryx So? How did it turn out?? :-)

  • i think this will help me, i wil give it a try.

i set my goal to get good marks in my exam, but when i sit for study some day dreams conquer me,i try to avoid it & concentrate on study but it doesn't help, even i read my books i perfectly understand it, but after few days if i read it again i find that i completely forgot it, in short things are not stable in my mind, how should i make my mind stable, plz help me maam!!!

  • Hey Bhushan -

You've got to set mini-milestones for your goals. Write down all the little steps you have to go through in order to get to your big goal, and then follow through (and check them off as you go). This should help you to get to your big goal and keep everything organized. I recorded some training on this. Bookmark this page & check back periodically; I'll add the link as a reply so everyone can use it.

  • Yea i use different techniques depending on what Im doing. I do MMA and other sports. When I want to buckle down and do some work i use this technique but when Im training I use this technique were I breath in really deeply as if i were going to hold my breath, hold it for a second or 2 then release. That one helps me gain air quicker.

  • This is true. I had a history teacher back in 7th grade that was very into yoga and stuff in the nature. We had his class at the end of the day so it was sort of stressful. One day he showed us this technique and we all meditated in the class. I was surprised because it felt good afterwards, i didn't expect anything to happen just by breathing and counting my breaths. Good video

  • Thanks Corky! It's amazing how much we let things bother us when it's just as easy to just let go! Have you used breathing techniques on your own, outside of the classroom?

  • ill give this a try

  • How did it go?

  • ironic that I can't even concentrate on the video.

  • Now you're just being silly ;-)

  • I kind of experience the neutral feeling, where I'm not concentrating, but I'm also not thinking about anything in particular, like If I were to try and tell you what was taking my focus away, I couldn't tell you, lol all I know is that I didn't focus, you wouldn't think it would be so hard to concentrate, lol

    people take that for granted.

okay, on with the video..... :-)

  • Thank you so much! I am going to try this and I hope it works. I've been through so much lately that I can't focus on the things I need to - study, work and job search. I am so saturated with other thoughts tht I can't focus for a minute. I am going to try this right now. Thanks so much again.

  • Cool! Let me know how it goes for you :-)

  • ...continued...So, as you're reading, have a conversation in your mind about what the author is saying. Start to ask yourself questions about the text, and also start making assumptions and seeing if they're proved right or wrong as you continue to read.

Let me know what you try & whether it helps!

  • hey,,,, Yup it did, actually i had over ten things to wright down this time :) shows how hard i have bin concentrating before, hehe thanks a bunch!!!!! thank you

  • Hey iranjali -

There are two things that might be going on there...the first is that, like many other people, you've got something else on your mind :) People like to say that multitasking is a great thing, but in reality, you can only focus on one thing at a time. If that's the case, just clear your mind before reading (write down what's bothering you & do a little of the breathing). With reading, you can also start a conversation in your mind about the reading while you read...TBC...

  • hey,, thanx alott!!!!!!!!it did help. i do have a question though when i read it once or when im reading a paragraph i need2 read it twice cos sometimes even if i no what im read it im not sure if what iv read is right..any solutions to improve on that?

    thanx alot:-)

  • Thank you.

  • Wow, that's a great question. Do you have a lot on your mind (are you preoccupied), or do you just have a hard time concentrating on anything in general? Either way, you could try actually taking notes! It may seem a little dorky, but it helps to remember what people say & then you can review and respond intelligently. Try it on the phone first - & see if it works. I've got notebooks filled with conversations!

    -Liane

  • is there a way to avoid all the distractions which goes through your mind ??? for eg: While studing for my examinations, I kept thinking about a game GTA 4 which I was going to get afterwards. It was because of that ,I wasn't be able to concentrate on my studies. although my exams went well and I got the game ,can you solve this question foe me ??? Thanx :)

  • Hi - uhm.. sjdfthefvthfetfcetsj?

Yes, there is a way to deal with those distractions. And that's through goal-setting. What your situation tells me is that you had no real reason to study except, say, because someone told you to. If you set a goal for yourself (like, I want to get an 'A' on this exam) and then try to reach it, it'll become fun to study - like a challenge - and you won't feel bored. Boredom (not wanting to do what you're doing) can cause your mind to get distracted.

  • thanks this is good advice, but i have problems not just studying but talking to people and alot of times i come off as kind of unintelligent because i cant really concentrate on the conversation and my brain allways, always drifts. are there social excersizes i can practice for this? thanks

  • thanks a lot mam...

  • thank u very much.. u did a grt job.... no words....

  • thank you ..

  • great video... thx

  • Hey BetterEducated - I also have a problem with studying, i am studying for a forensics qualifacation and I seem to shut down when I work, I just cannot focus or concentrate on anything but my worries, I have to read the information 2 or 3 times before it makes any sense as well which dosent normally happen - I have tried everything but nothing seems to work - help!

  • Hey sureshot86uk - I know 1st hand what it's like to be so overwhelmed that you can't get anything done - especially when you have so many things on your mind. Try writing down all your worries on paper. When you are trying to study and 1 comes up, write it down. Tell URself that there's no need to hold onto the worry b/c it's written down; you won't forget it! Also, it may sound counter intuitive, but take an hour off & do something fun. U'll be more focused when you return to your studies.

  • Hey coffeecup7! Look carefully: you've answered your own question. You're telling yourself that you won't qualify, and then instead of focusing, you're just going in circles. If meditation doesn't work for you, you might need to try something else. What I personally find is that if I exercise for about an hour (kickboxing, yoga, whatever takes focus and energy), I end up much more able to focus afterwards. You may feel like there's no time, but you'll actually make more time doing that.

  • I have this prob when studying...its like i just know i wont qualify even if i study, i keep freakin out in my mind, omg what do i do n stuff like that.. its a vicious circle, coz i waste my time without gettin any work done which makes me freak out even more!

    am i sick?

Im preparing for post graduation competitive test in medicine. Help!

  • My pleasure!

  • thanks a lot. This is really helpful
