  • that's awesome i don't even jump that close to that high non side saddle

  • :O props to this rider

  • whohw... this si CRAZY!!!! im still only working on cantering bareback and this chick is jumping sidesaddle...man...you gots gutzzzzz

  • congrat's!! but your position over ther jump is too stiff, know it's a blance thing but it cant be comfortable for the horse :/

  • @Emiliebracken Emilie, shush :L

  • @nikkishilabilly Go Away you ;)

  • @Emiliebracken have you tried anything sidesaddle, ever? This is a VERY balanced rider! But I do wonder why she didn't try coming from the other direction since her horse obviously prefers his right lead, and I personally think cantering right is easier. Puissance classes do not typically require you to jump the 'small' fence

  • hats off to this lady for her amazing balance - WOW! :)

  • That is AWESOME.

  • that's insaaaane!

  • The music is perfect for this! Great riding by the waay :)

  • great job! sidesaddle is actually easier to stay on because of the leaping horn. your right leg is wrapped around a horn called a leaping horn that keeps you on. as long as your leg stays bent its fairly easy to stay on. i hope to jump this height soon! great job!!

  • That's amazing, I could never imagine jumping that height in a sidesaddle, that was sooo cool!!!!!!:)

  • i think this is the most unusual and cool thing i have ever seen, it must be so hard, i would love to try it one day

  • I've never ridden side saddle, but doesn't that hurt the horse's back? that cannot be good for it. someone correct me if i'm wrong (politely please).

  • @equestrian208 well if it's ridden correctly (like the amazing rider in this video) then no, it doesn't hurt the back. it was the refereed style of riding for ladies years ago (i can't remember when exactly) and all in all is so much safer then riding astride.

  • could i use this clip for a video im doing ???

  • id fall off as soon as i walked off

  • Pretty sure i would cry xDD

  • omg! wow! how do you not fall off!? that's crazy, i don't think i could do that for my life :p never tried it yet...The horses must be well trained too to respond to just one leg...

  • love riding sidesaddle - borrowed one a while ago and loved it! am saving up to buy one...... :)

  • at least its easy to look left and right into your corners! =)

  • I ride eventers, and some people say that we do scary stuff... but honestly, I don't think I could manage to do that! hahaha

    SUPER cute horse though!

  • @Eventer9596 Some people even do eventing sidesaddle! A young woman was fourth at the national Training level championships in 2005, out of about 40-50 in her division.

  • I ride eventers, and some people say that we do scary stuff... but honestly, I don't think I could manage to do that! hahaha

  • That horse obviously loves to jump.

  • I love jumping sidesaddle

  • side saddle is fun but jumping side saddle is not as easyn haha

  • Sidesaddle seems uncomfortable.. Is it?

  • Wouldn't side saddle hurt the horse or something?

  • @JSWIZZL3 Nope. Its a specially designed saddle and a woman who rides side saddle sits just like you would on a normal english saddle- balanced, facing forward with even weight distribution. The only difference is that instead of her right leg going over the other side, it goes in front of the left leg and rests on a second pommel. Takes getting used to but its not uncomfortable. They're even used for therapeutic riding.

  • I don't know anything about sidesaddle really but I would think that jumping sidesaddle is difficult to balance for the horse too, though that doesn't appear to be the case here :P

  • I. WANT. THIS. HORSE. it's gorgeousssss <3

  • i can jump this high on a regular saddle, but i never would be able to do this! Crazy! But awesome!

  • Amazing! I've popped a leg over and had a play sidesaddle, but two or three strides of trot was my limit, let along jumping 1.30!! Talk about a good seat and incredible balance... This woman in bloody brilliant! x

  • mad skillz

  • Jumping side saddle is hard

    welldone to that rider!!

    bravo :)

  • No flying lead changes I see? ;p jk, I had to point something out cause Im so jealous of her riding ability, I cant even go half that high in a regular saddle!! Congrats!!

  • @PrettyBlueOverYou oh actually she got a couple of changes. XD

  • Fantastic horsemanship!

  • i dont even know how this saddle is built. what supports the rider?

  • @mirokupurple There are two pommels. the left leg sits under one and the right leg over the other

  • wow, i dont thnk i could jump side saddle

  • I am so excited to learn side saddle however no intention to jump that high ever lol. I think my fiance would close his eyes the entire time. We might go to europe for a few weeks so I can learn to ride side saddle since I seem to only be able to find 2 instructors in all of Canada. Congrats btw

  • I can't even jump that high in a regular saddle!

  • its amazing how some people this high in a side saddle! its hard enough to even sit in one let alone jump in one! i tried trotting in one once and fell haha (:

  • Lol! I remember when we had a side saddle jumper start learning from my instructer & she was scared to jump our way when clearly her way was much harder! XD

  • wow your good

  • amazing... purely amazing

  • That was just BEAUTIFUL!! I miss jumping side saddle!!

  • dus it not hurt the persons knee being hooked round the saddle?

  • Partyanimals, if you jumped sideways in a regular jumping saddle, I don't think things would go as planned. It is a side saddle, for sure. Notice the 2 girths on the right side.

  • wow its really hard sidesaddle

  • u got mad skillzzzzz every time i even walk side saddle i fall offf hahahah

  • was it made as a real side saddle or a regular endlish saddle?

  • Awh...they knocked it =(

  • id love to try side saddle on the flat someday (; looks like a challenge!

  • side saddle is so hard! i congratulate this rider!!

i only managed a canter down one side of the ring when i did side saddle lol

  • @gabbybella123 well it's nearly impossibe to fall off a horse sidesaddle (i've heard) but i agree; well done to the horsee and the riderr :)

  • @OnTheBitPonies I've only done side saddle 3 times - and it REALLY feels like you're going to fall off all the time - i was also told that it's really hard to fall off, but you feel SO unbalanced it's quite shocking :p

  • probs not.

  • good horse just behavin like that it would be pretty hard ridin side saddle let alone jumping!

  • comments mr. Marek Gajewski, big polish sidesaddle propagator.

  • you kick with ne leg and use a whip/crop on the other side

  • wow that takes some talent. i'd just fall off the side if i even sat in a side saddle

  • It's actually really difficult to fall off sidesaddle :)

  • it would be hard to fall off tho cos ur leg is hooked round the big thingy at the front

  • i have never ridden side saddle, i wonder how you get the horse moving if you really only have one leg to kick??

    thats craziii =//

  • With your seat and voice aids

  • @ashgwenlaur You have a whip that acts as the leg aid on the 'legless' side, also how you use the reins and the leg that does get used. That's why they are called highly trained 'Ladie's Mounts' :)

  • Thats risky

  • thats gotta b bad for the horses back

  • It's not. Most people will swich which side they ride on to work the horse equally.

  • how? do you have seperate saddles?

  • no, if it was then it wouldnt be an acknowledged sport. dont crit something just cos u dnt understand it

  • niiiice horse cant be easy side-saddle

  • cool, im gonna do tht some day, im currently jumping 4ft, and 2fi side-saddle! ♥

  • Anybody know the breed of horse?

  • Comment removed

  • lol i can understand everything they are saying =]

    haha im polish

    polska na zawsze!!

  • 3:36 oh god thers more??? all i can think of when horse lands is ouch.

  • @SweetWolf44 she seems to be landing lightly in the saddle though. like if you watch her placement and what not

  • wow one of my ponies is smaller than 130cm!

  • I know this sounds made but it actually looks easier to jump a bigger fence as there is more impulsion going into it. Amazing rider so well composed.

  • i totally agree with you

  • WOW. That. Is. Amazing. I can only jump 2ft at the moment! I'll soon be there ;D

  • wow;

    that takes some serious balance.
