Went to be Brooklyn side today- It is really a very happy thing- The artist has created something exceptionally special IF YOU CAN GET THERE_GET THERE -
Dude this thing is awesome and waaayyy better than watching webcams of your favorite places and having to refresh every 5 minutes. I would pay however much money it takes to get on a plane to go to either one of them.
yea, no kidding you can do this with a webcam at home, consumers have been able to for about 10 years now.. but there's something about adding props that makes it seem more fun. It's the difference between a white wall behind you, and using a green screen to make you look like a news reporter.. it's the little touches that make it a little better. Also makes you realize how far technology has come.
Is this thing for real or what? There is /was never a fiberoptic cable ever laid underground.Fiberoptic cable is expensive to produce ,and one that stretches for NY to london would be astronomical! Its either an illusion,or alien technology being unveiled.
If you read the official documents, it's actually with a tunnel and enormous lenses.
My brother told me this when he asked me to film these clips for him, and I - as an engineer, and knowing his disreputability - was completely unconvinced. But having seen the machines in action, felt the brass, seen the distortions in the pictures, think he's probably right.
I'm not sure about filming but I got a couple of decent photographs after fiddling with the settings on my camera. Sharp enough to read what they wrote on the other side.
That jerk at the front is hogging the view.
DOWN IN FRONT!!

Just a system, it's a telescope? In that case how have we seen images of other planets and galaxies?
Relax it's a work of art.

It's a satellite link, via broadband, according to the Daily Mail (UK)

Seems much more effective to film it in London (5 hours ahead of New York) soon after sundown to avoid glare.
