Rock music is good, but there was a time when it was deeply deeply good. The Alan Parsons Project was part of that time, I feel I'm a better person for having lived that period of music.
Takes me back to Arcadian days - P & O crew used to flog this album and others of Alan PArsons on ths ship.....oh the memories, music, hash, love, pub crawling...
You got to listen to the whole album, it's one long ass song.. me and a friend of mine lisened to this album over and over for like 15 hours strait, tripping our balls off.. that was a hell of a night heh..
@joker777x I agree,it is an epic album. really hard to describe, unless you do listen from beginning to end it just hasn't the same effect. whether your tripping or not :-)
Video is great. Like something is coming and very have any idea... those that do only know they have a bad feeling. Then it attacks even the children and washes everything evil away. Then all of Earth is reborn... all in one afternoon summer storm.
Hey thanks man- I have four or five Alan Parsons Project albums, but all are on vinyl as that was before CD's took over. A.P. and (J.M.Jarre especially) are really great on a good stereo with good quality headphones- I also used to sit in the dark in front of my lighted 30 gal aquarium and listen, especially good when accompanied by the right urb.
How many times we used to smoke up & jack in with multiple headphones and listen to this and other Alan Parsons classics. He worked on both pink floyd and beatles among others - I vividly remember how cool it was to sit looking out the window on a cold snowy day and listen to AP and Jean michael Jarre-!!
I dig this out every Halloween. We took a limo to a halloween poetry thing in a mansion called Poe Evermore a few years ago and played this on the way there. Great music!
woooooooooooooooow !!! i love it a lot . especially fall of the house of usher (pavane) simply amazing!!!! but it's all wonderful job. . thx for sharing this artwork of sound and video.
Spectacular! Beautiful images to match beautiful music! (Are those banana fronds? I grew up with those!) You have an artist's eye to capture the love of rain so few people have ... between Hawaii and Seattle, I love rain, but seldom have I seen it expressed so eloquently. Jealous, covet covet.
Spectacular! Great vid! Thank you for sharing. All of you dry types, look and learn! Rain is wonderful. A nice match with the music, a touching and nostalgic piece of work!
I've been listening to this album since 1976, and the song ( in the multiparted song) #9 (Pavane) was one of the most beautiful. The anlbum has since been rereleased in 2007 as a double disc. The 1987 remix was the clearest you could buy on CD. Alan Parsons was a visionary who made instrumental music when it not in fashion. Great job, even 32 years later.
I tell people who I recommend this album to this is not just ordinary music, it's a thinking persons music. Deep thought and meaning are included in every verse and you cannot just listen to it. This music has to be inhaled- absorbed if you will- into one's soul.........enjoy.

Alan Parsons is just an obsessive Poe fan and wanted to make an album inspired by his works. Personally this is one of my absolute favorite albums. I wish they'd done the Masque of the Red Death though.
True, Sturm, but Alan brought all of the magicians together. Messrs. Wolfson and Bairnson and Powell were brought together by Mr. Parsons. We have much to thank him for regardless of who actually created a single piece. Messrs. Lennon and McCartney shared billing for the vast majority of the Beatles' work, but we all recognize that it was their combined efforts that created the magic.
Alan Parsons is underrated and inadequately recognized as a towering genius.
No, the is part of a piece to the album "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" by the Alan Parsons Project. This is part of the "Fall of the House of Usher." "Dream Within a Dream" is another piece from the same album.
You wrote in description "Allan Parker Project".. what a funny mashup you did.. correct title is "Tales of Mistery and Imagination Edgar Allan Poe" and correct author is "The Alan Parsons Project", while Alan Parker the director has nothing to do with that. At least tags at right (if you remove one "l" from "Allan").
images magnifiques qui accompagnent merveilleusement ces notes qui s'envolent

while this is beautifully put together it has absolutely nothing to do with the Poe story - wish it did.
