  • images magnifiques qui accompagnent merveilleusement ces notes qui s'envolent

  • while this is beautifully put together it has absolutely nothing to do with the Poe story - wish it did.

  • just doesnt get much better than this

  • Rock music is good, but there was a time when it was deeply deeply good. The Alan Parsons Project was part of that time, I feel I'm a better person for having lived that period of music.

  • Beautiful!

  • Yes, here is where you enter into another dimension.......

  • This is the point where you go from life to death....Or rather, death to life.....

  • stupend....

  • I have this album on vinyl ...one of my all time favourites

  • Takes me back to Arcadian days - P & O crew used to flog this album and others of Alan PArsons on ths ship.....oh the memories, music, hash, love, pub crawling...

  • AWEEDSOME !!!!!!!!!!

  • You got to listen to the whole album, it's one long ass song.. me and a friend of mine lisened to this album over and over for like 15 hours strait, tripping our balls off.. that was a hell of a night heh..

  • @joker777x I agree,it is an epic album. really hard to describe, unless you do listen from beginning to end it just hasn't the same effect. whether your tripping or not :-)

  • @joker777x How old were you ?

  • @kate16ish 18

  • Nicely done video. i love Alan Parsons Project. Tales is one of my favorite albums of all time.

  • electronic and orchestral: Andrew Powell was the composer for these pieces.

  • Video is great. Like something is coming and very have any idea... those that do only know they have a bad feeling. Then it attacks even the children and washes everything evil away. Then all of Earth is reborn... all in one afternoon summer storm.

  • the rain. can not type.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man, what a sad birthday that must have been!

  • Wallowing in misery, love it!

  • the fall of germany...

  • Yes. This came out in 1976 (1st album)

  • Nice video with perfect emotional music..

  • I was 50 yesterday - man the years have 'blown by" since then! lol

  • happy birthday !

  • Hey thanks man- I have four or five Alan Parsons Project albums, but all are on vinyl as that was before CD's took over. A.P. and (J.M.Jarre especially) are really great on a good stereo with good quality headphones- I also used to sit in the dark in front of my lighted 30 gal aquarium and listen, especially good when accompanied by the right urb.

  • haha i like my urb with some tubular bells, puts me to sleep everynight haha! all the best for the 50 years and beyond dude :D

  • How many times we used to smoke up & jack in with multiple headphones and listen to this and other Alan Parsons classics. He worked on both pink floyd and beatles among others - I vividly remember how cool it was to sit looking out the window on a cold snowy day and listen to AP and Jean michael Jarre-!!

  • amen, that is what i use to do!!!!!

  • Art

  • I dig this out every Halloween. We took a limo to a halloween poetry thing in a mansion called Poe Evermore a few years ago and played this on the way there. Great music!

  • This so so amazing to listen to with the lights out on a stormy night.

  • I'm now 49......

  • This is the soundtrack of my late teens,Love it!

  • wow, amazing video cheers mate

  • It's amazing how many people don't know of him. He did Moby twenty years before Moby did Moby.

  • woooooooooooooooow !!! i love it a lot . especially fall of the house of usher (pavane) simply amazing!!!! but it's all wonderful job. . thx for sharing this artwork of sound and video.

    alan parsons rulez

  • Spectacular! Beautiful images to match beautiful music! (Are those banana fronds? I grew up with those!) You have an artist's eye to capture the love of rain so few people have ... between Hawaii and Seattle, I love rain, but seldom have I seen it expressed so eloquently. Jealous, covet covet.

Spectacular! Great vid! Thank you for sharing. All of you dry types, look and learn! Rain is wonderful. A nice match with the music, a touching and nostalgic piece of work!

    Thank you for this!

  • great vid to a great composition...thanks

  • Thanks for posting..

  • un gran tema, es sorprendente la mezcla de sonidos, fascinante

  • bonito video con una cancion magistral de fondo

  • back , at that time , it was a farmer`s daugther

who made me discover alan^s parsons , beside annecy france , i know ! who cares !^^ but it was the irony of d thing !

  • what a concept, amazing source material beautifully realized

  • I've been listening to this album since 1976, and the song ( in the multiparted song) #9 (Pavane) was one of the most beautiful. The anlbum has since been rereleased in 2007 as a double disc. The 1987 remix was the clearest you could buy on CD. Alan Parsons was a visionary who made instrumental music when it not in fashion. Great job, even 32 years later.

  • I tell people who I recommend this album to this is not just ordinary music, it's a thinking persons music. Deep thought and meaning are included in every verse and you cannot just listen to it. This music has to be inhaled- absorbed if you will- into one's soul.........enjoy.

  • Its good that you're not turned off by thinking... but really, less cliche please

  • I tell people who I recommend this album to this is not just ordinary music, it's a thinking persons music. Deep thought and meaning are included in every verse and you cannot just listen to it. This music has to be inhaled- absorbed if you will- into one's soul.........enjoy.

  • I started my fascination of music with that track. Gorgious...

  • Excelente!!

    Great music and video ;-)

    Thanks from spain!!

  • Exquisito!!!

  • Superb video...is according to my soul and imagination...

  • Anyone know the story behing the "Tales Edgar A Poe" album? There's gotta be a fantastic Tale to create it!

  • Alan Parsons is just an obsessive Poe fan and wanted to make an album inspired by his works. Personally this is one of my absolute favorite albums. I wish they'd done the Masque of the Red Death though.

  • It was not Alan Parsons but Eric Woofsson who 'needed' to make an album about mr. Poe

  • True, Sturm, but Alan brought all of the magicians together. Messrs. Wolfson and Bairnson and Powell were brought together by Mr. Parsons. We have much to thank him for regardless of who actually created a single piece. Messrs. Lennon and McCartney shared billing for the vast majority of the Beatles' work, but we all recognize that it was their combined efforts that created the magic.

Alan Parsons is underrated and inadequately recognized as a towering genius.

  • This is classic. How could anyone not enjoy........

  • oh.there good, this is my first time listening to these guys.

  • oh and imho

one the best albums of all time

  • one of the best opening sentences ever written

    bravo Poe

try a little poem called Alone

  • is this a dream within a dream.

  • No, the is part of a piece to the album "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" by the Alan Parsons Project. This is part of the "Fall of the House of Usher." "Dream Within a Dream" is another piece from the same album.

  • You wrote in description "Allan Parker Project".. what a funny mashup you did.. correct title is "Tales of Mistery and Imagination Edgar Allan Poe" and correct author is "The Alan Parsons Project", while Alan Parker the director has nothing to do with that. At least tags at right (if you remove one "l" from "Allan").

    Nice video, though.

  • spelling-check:

it's "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" :P

  • Thanx! You must be an APP fan! Check my channel for a cover from Tales which I just published!

  • I have it on cd alog with some other relaxing stuf and iets great

  • great

  • Amei! ja tinha visto, mas mesmo assim fico mtu bom pai!

    Awesome dad, I love you!<3

    100/5 stars

  • Alan Parsons Project ist genau die richtige Musik, um die mystische, groteske und zugleich auch trübe Stimmung in diesem Video zu unterstreichen.
