Fantastic! Originally recorded this on a mono tape recorder from the Mike Allen show as a teenager. Still sounds so effortlessly powerful and atmospheric.
Ive been looking to hear this accapella of "sitting at the edge of my bed" man ! I remember this when i heard it on one of those mr magic cassettes i used to record. I was like man this is underground.
Heads up!! Any o yo know if Street Dance sound track or vid (not tha movie, it hit of wit whistlin' an two dudes slow walking head on to tha camera) is on UTUBE. Hit us bak wit info!! TA!!
Damn! I had this record in my collection back in the day. It's really Ironic, I bought this record cause I thought it was the DBL crew from Fayetteville NC. "Down By Law" (DBL Crew) was well known in Fayetteville NC as early as 1983. Three years before this record came out. The DBL I knew personally had a better flow and vocally sounded better. This DBL Crew was definitely not them.
Yo!!!! These kids are my homies. We grew up together in Atlantic City, N.J. My boy Donnie D killed himself, he was my Ni**a and well missed. I can't say what my boy Jamal is up to these days, I do hope he well!
that is not the andy griffin sample, it is some other sample that de la soul got slammed for sampling on one of the early track got sued big time. ,,,,, i can't remember the correct sample tho...
R.I.P. Donnie D! this group was from my hometown of Atlantic City. i remember this when i was in high school. i also knew the girl he was rappin about!

Dayum. I haven't heard this since high school. I just saw his son little Donte' graduate.
Haha...little Donny D.
This upload brings back a LOT of memories...Aree Beyah knowing the whole song before it came out...Donny D performing this at the low-rise parties.
