I couldn't agree with you more!!! I actually came down here and seached for "family circus sucks" after catching eye of another one of his piss poor comics. I swear to god bill keane must be a 50 year old virgin who lives in some podunk jesus freak town where he spends all of his free time volunteering at his church. He needs to cut down on his relationship with god and find one with humor. I can't believe washington post still prints this shit, It makes me fucking nauseous.
It's actually pretty uncomfortable... 'Billy' is an animator for Disney and Jeffy is stuck continuing on the family circus. He's basically writing about himself and his siblings growing up - and in real life there is a LOT of rivalry between Jeffy and Billy. It's actually really cool to see it play out on the strip. Billy is presented as an arrogant, talented moron.

No, Keane has a wife and five chlidren, who he bases his comics on. When he dies his son Jeffy takes over.

I dont know. To me they tend to all come across as equally bland.
I just wonder why they never put Keane's real life fifth child in the strip.
It's a shame King Features Syndicate lawyer goons put the kiosh on my old alma mater, the Dysfunctional Family Circus.
