  • did Brett the intern send anyone here??

  • @TheKMills11 yepp

  • @ericdeben haha nice, i really like this song

  • @TheKMills11 yes :)

  • This was really odd for me. I just heard this song for the first time and the opening melody actually immediately put a lump in my throat. The song kept growing and growing until it reached the part about Nirvana and making your own band. It put the oddest grin on my face and oddest feeling in my heart. Like someone reminded me of something really important I forgot about. Like someone reminded me of happy, grand moments. So much in here that seems personal. It's called Heart Songs for a reason.

  • @amanKENNEDY I get that feeling to. I suspect many do, Nirvana was such an important band and this song is proof of that, even to artists that debuted not too long after Nevermind.

  • such a good song to smoke weed to

  • @fabs2775 dude i tottaly agree!

  • this song gives me cold chilllss o.o

  • @AntwanYellaWig Yes! When he gets to the "Then I heard the chords that broke the chains I had upon me" it's chills central for me.

  • thank god 4 music

  • Kurdt Cobain broke Rivers' chains and set him free like so many of us.

  • @YargDisease Kurt*

  • @Gulliver1229xD I know how Kurt is spelled dude. In some letters kurt wrote he would sometime sign the KurDt to be funny. Or just to be weird. Buy the Kurt cobain Journals...you'll see what i mean.

Do you just patrol comment lines on different videos like a spelling nazi?

  • @YargDisease lol u mad?

  • @Gulliver1229xD LOL u 14? Go get some vagina and stop trolling the internet troll.

    go watch anime vids

  • Comment removed

  • @Gulliver1229xD I dont care what you are. You are one of those annoying people on youtube that feels the need to correct everyone's slightest spelling errors.

    Troll.

    now go fuck a girl.

  • @YargDisease fine, i'm sorry for correcting you. i was not aware of your little journals. but you're being awfully rude and judgemental.

    P.S. i am fourteen, actually.

  • @Gulliver1229xD Not my journals as said before...If you leave your keyboard once in a while and stop spell checking every fucking word...you might find a book store. With Kurt cobains Journals. Its a book. Dumb kid.

    KURDT. LoL U mad?

  • @YargDisease I took notice upon the post of you telling Gulliver to watch anime vids, do you watch anime? ^.^

  • @MrLemmuh No. I have friends. and cable.

  • @Gulliver1229xD I have to agree with Yarg, It's only a fuckin spellin mistake, I'm a grammar whiz but I make the occasional mistake, and if I'm correcting anyone, it's gonna be people I know, just to piss em off.

  • @MrLemmuh but why exactly do you guys keep attacking me? and you're telling ME to stop going around and attacking everyone? yeah, that's rational.

  • love weezer and nirvana made me smile when he mentioned the nevermind album cover

  • fucking gorgeous song

  • This is one of my heart songs.

  • The definition of crescendo! Love this song!

  • Weezer is one of those very few bands where you can listen to them for the rest of your life and never get tired of them. =)

  • I ♥ this song ♫

  • <3 ♪♫

  • Weezer makes me happy.

  • This is the best Weezer EVER.

  • Can listen to this song all day(:

  • Can listen to this song all daaaaaay[:

  • thumbs up if you think this is the best song from the red album.

  • @ishouldbeonfb thumbs up if you dont like people who want attention....

  • but it's a really good song,

it's catchy , and it sounds amazing :3

    i loves it (:

    love <3

  • i really wikes this song :3

and i have no sweet idea why ;D

  • OMG! Amazing song! Does'nt sound like there normal stuff, but wow ... lol

  • Comment removed

  • It gave me goosebumps..

  • UP THE IRONS!

  • 2:26 Nevermind FTW

  • Only problem with this song is 1 inaccurate line. "Debbie Gibson, tell me that you think we're all alone" Nice line, but Gibson never recorded that song, it was Tiffany, she of the mall tour. Other than that this is my 3rd fave from the album after The Angel and the One, and Greatest Man Who Ever Lived. Pig is pretty damn good too.

  • @Nolanfan26 I always thought that was supposed to be intentional- he's referencing Debbie AND Tiffany.

  • I <3 thiiiiissss. Amazing.

  • so simple but so emotional.

  • i love how they mentioned nevermind....thats the record that got me into music too

  • @AntwanYellaWig yeah that was prety cool

  • I'm surprised about how totally outstanding songs from this album (especially this one, but also Troublemaker, Everybody get Dangerous and Pork and Beans) are mixed with strongly average ones on the Red Album. Honestly, if this album would be released with half of the songs, it would be twice as good.

  • this song is on the red album

  • Can anybody tell me the meaning of the lines

"had a baby on it, he was naked on it" ?

    Thanks :)

  • @VivaLaHannah14 He was referring to one of Nirvana's album where it had a naked baby underwater chasing after a dollar bill attached to a fishing pole. The name of the album was Nevermind, look it up on youtube, you will see.

  • 1:17 to 1:28 is the best part

  • I think this is one of the best weezer songs.

  • nirvanas the shit i wish i was the age i am now back then. he says rehearsal kinda in a cobain way.

  • i'm hungry

  • I don't see why people say it doesn't sound like Weezer. I think it does. And I think it's the best thing on the Red Album.

  • @slashslashdotdot This is the song that sounds MOST like Blue Album era weezer since Pinkerton, and people can't hear it...

  • Fantastic song paying loving tribute to Rivers's musical influences. Not sure why the song got so much fan backlash at the time it came out, or why the band itself even seemed to reject, kicking the record playing it during their live show.

  • sounds a bit like the front singer of Linkin Park at the beginning...Cool song

  • this is the song that touches my heart

  • I love Weezer.

  • weezer is the best band ever i know every word to this song

  • These guys aren't bad. But they mention Metallica, Slayer and Iron Maiden. Those are bands to check out.

  • they actually dont mention metallica

  • OMG i luv this

  • weezer is the true deffinition for souls

  • few mistakes in this song ...Tiffany sang I think were alone now ...

  • Roommate said come on and put a brand new record on. Had a baby on it. He was naked on it, then I heard the chords that broke the chains..

  • @PierreProdInc best part of the song. Fuckin' Nirvana, man.

  • Comment removed

  • i love this fucking shit

  • this is the first time that i've heard this song, Ive never actually bought the red album. n I didn't read the comments before finishing to hear the song... I have to say that asn a Nivana fan the bridge part totally rocked me off my socks... didn't see that comin. AWESOME as ever WEEZER.

  • nirvana nevermind inspired him yay!!

  • Only Weezer can rhyme on it with on it and get away with it LOL!

  • @parabola613 Does rhyme still matter?

  • ''then i heard the lyrics that broke the chains i had upon me'' these word are dicribing me with this song

  • omg listen to the chords. now wait and hear the lyrics he says "never gonna give you up". it's like fuck you weezer you rickroll'd me!

  • The bridge is amazing. The build up and the lyrics intensifies everything to a whole new level

  • "a cat named Stevens" love that. cat Stevens was amazing ♥

(as many of the other bands mentioned in this song of course.)

  • I'm pretty sure Eddie Ravitz sang about a rainy night, who the fuck is ed rabbit?

  • think it was a typo, cuz eddie ravitz DID sing a song about a rainy night ^^

  • Had a baby on it, ha was naked on it = Nirvana, Nevermind

  • Love this song! Has anyone noticed the "Do you believe what i see now" from "The world has turned and left me hear" (off blue album) near the end of this song?

  • I HEAR IT! awesome. I love both songs.

  • Tiffany sang i think we're alone now, not debby gibson

  • Comment removed

  • damn, can't this generation just let people have their own opinions without commenting about it.

    Geeze. Grow up people.

  • This song has so many emotions that go with it and it's so inspirational and moving.

    Love it, keep rocking! =w=

  • they just figure out melodies that get you. its their calling. this sounds like it couldve been on the blue album.

  • i love it.

  • This song totally gives me goose bumps every time i hear it, i grew up on weezer feel very emotionally tied to their songs..Keep rockin guys

  • brilliant song

  • This song is just amazing, there are no words to describe the amazing structure and sound of this song, I love weezer, and I don't know why this song isn't more popular than it is. Oh, and by the way, when people start saying that mainstream pop, rap, and hip-hop music is better than Weezer, you know life just fucked up.

    Weezer for Life

  • Yeah, this song's the shit. Too bad the new Weezer album is shapin' up to be horrible. They're recording a track with Lil' Wayne, and everything else I've heard from it so far has been nothing but disappointing.

  • Man, WTF is WEEZER doing with LIL FRICKING WAYNE? THIS MAKES NO SENSE! 1 question, WHY WEEZER? WHY?

  • weezer - weezy. similar names?

  • ok so just because a band changes a little bit that makes it horrible? It is a good album. yes things are different but that doesnt make it bad.

  • Just not my cup of tea. Not gonna argue with you over it, cause honestly if you like it, then that's just your opinion. Know it's been said over and over, but MUSIC = SUBJECTIVE.

  • It doesn't have to be a battle between genres. I grew up listening to bands like Weezer, but I also grew up listening to Wu Tang. There can be an appreciation for both.

The real argument, I think, is against crap music regardless of genre.

  • Yeah, I guess I have to agree with you on that one, but I just don't understand how people can like modern rap and hip-hop music... I don't know, to me it just sounds like cursing and some crap about drugs.... BUT old rap music was indeed good, but the modern stuff is like the mutant abomination of a def jam record and a bad stand-up comedian... I don't know, people like what they like I guess.

  • That's a fair way of putting it. I don't like modern hip hop either, at least none of the stuff they play on the radio.

But I do love the classic stuff, like Nas's Illmatic, A Tribe Called Quest, Brand Nubian and Pete Rock.

Modern hip hop is all about materialism and screaming at the listener, "Look at all the shit I have that you don't have!"

  • I think this is the best Weezer song as well however I can see where DemonicMuffinMan's comin from. By the way great name:)

  • Best weezer song...I want more like this.

  • you sir have obivously not listened to only in dreams, across the sea, and lets sew our pants together. listen to those THEN say this is the best weezer song

  • its all an opinion . and this song is really nice

  • what the... have i missed something here?!

  • Still have no notion why this wasn't released as a single. Probably for the sole reason that it doesn't sound like Weezer. With the right promotion this could have attracted a lot of new listeners. The outstanding track from that album, easily.

  • Hahaha love the Nirvana reference

  • basically sain they inspired him to play

  • you called me a homo

  • What Nirvana reference? I musta missed it.

  • "Back in 1991, I wasn't havin' any fun

'Till my roommate said "come on and put a brand new record on"

Had a baby on it, he was naked on it

Then I heard the chords that broke the chains I had upon me"

    How can you miss that?!

  • Wow, I guess I never really thought about it. I feel like a dumbass now :/

  • where was that?

  • 2:27 - 2:49

  • i love this song and my teacher showed it to me and i just noticed that they say Michael Jackson in this song (R.I.P.)

    I LOVE THIS SONG

  • your teacher is awesome

  • you bet she is

    :)

  • omg i love songs. well writtin unlike the new bullshit songs ever1 likes. like shke shke it so lame.

  • yeah that song is just about a bunch of queers shakin their dicks at each other.

  • Not really the singing itself, but the melody does kinda sound like it could be from By the Way or Stadium Arcadium.

  • Wonderful.
