Yeah, Im from kinglake to, although im only 15 and have been living up here for 10 years.
I remember the paniced look on dads face as we saw the fires coming up our road, i remember my sisters screaming in the car as we tried to get away (we did) i remember being locked in my friends, brothers bedroom as the fire went over us, i remember when we got the calls telling us that we had lost friends.... these are the days that spilt people apart, bu also brought people closer together. thanks CFA x
Great video...it really catches the reality of the fires that come through our lovely town. I am a Kinglaker and still wouldnt live anywhere else...this is my home! I've lived here for over 18 yrs now and seen many fires up here and around but that Saturday was actually HELL! No other way to describe it. The horror still continues over three weeks later,so many lost..some maybe never to be found. Thankyou to everyone who has supported us through this. This song Faith Alive...where can I get it?
We can imagine the horror you guys have endured. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all and will for many years to come. Regarding the song, I'm happy to email you an MP3. Just let me know where to send it.
Can you idiots all stop your conspiracy theories and who is right and who is wrong, or whether this was arson or not. People have not only lost EVERYTHING, but also their LIVES. Think about what matters in this case, and its not who is right or wrong on a bloody youtube comment. I doubt any of us know anything unless someone here is the Police Commisioner or the PM, and I highly doubt that, as they are busy helping these people with nothing.
We all, as humans are to blame for this disaster, as long as we keep burning our fossil fuels, that all that matters right?
We are all responsible for this horrific catastrophy. But we fail to act. This I fear will be the tip of the iceburg, coral bleaching next, mass starvation, fires, droughts and flooding. Our end is near.
I hope the bastard who started this murder on a massive scale survived. I would lock the mongral in a room with the families and friends of the dearly departed then if there is anything left let the rest get hold of him. As far as I am concerned there is no reason any human has to do something so careless.
My heart and preys go out to everyone effected by what has happened. Power to the CFA.
At this point there is NO evidence at all that ANY of the fires were deliberately lit. The Commissioner is on fishing expedition, they have no suspects and the reason they came out and said the fires in Churchill are believed to be deliberately lit is because 4 fires started on the 1 road around the same time & they don't understand how this could happen, which is a typical response by authorities in this country.
yes there is and now they have arrested two people for it! Someone took a picture of a guy lighting the fire. He was on a motorbike and they got the rego and all.
No, those people were taken in for questioning for acting suspiciously in the area. They were -not- questioned for arson... the police have stated that.
However... I've heard that the Gippsland fires -were- arson. But again, anger, fear and hate are running at their highest right now, so whispers become fact so quick. Just try to keep cool and think things through. It's hard to do that with what's happened, I know... I'm trying myself.
NOT AT ALL, at the time there was NO evidence and the statements made by the Commissioner are on record. The fellow has been charged but that doesn't mean conviction. My main concern was the unnessary addition of anger to those trying to grieve
I dont think its mean to wish the bastard who started these fires burnt in them, I am in Yarram on the doorstep of a couple of fires one of which sparked in the middle of town, from embers from the main one just out of town. Love the vid and the song. More power to our CFA!!
