im up at the northern end of the trail and last spring we had a few people that got hurt on the trail and they had a heck of a job getting them out and to a hospital

@ThisIsNotPictureTube My knee hit a 1 inch branch and cracked it. I had a lump on the inside of my knee but it did not stop me from continuing. I was OK. But anytime you fall you can have serious injuries. Thanks for asking.

Are there any Grizzly in the Appalachians? When I was in the Marine Corps we trained in that neck of the woods (Westerrn NC) and I did see black bear but no grizzly.

@ChowHallCommando There are no Grizzly bears in North Carolina and none on the AT which spans 2,000 miles from Georgia through Maine. There are black bears.
