the prop is definately too big, that's your main problem. If you get a very small trolling prop you will not spin in circles and should be able to get about 10 knots out of it. It worked for me

weedwackers aren't designed for the torque water imposes, it may work provided the throttle is wide open but you'll burn more fuel than its worth. Better just to buy a dedicated troller motor bud.

Still a good idea! You've just made a puller instead of a pusher. They make props RH and LH. Whichever you have on that puppy, you need the opposite hand, that's all. @localdu Due to the resistance of the prop through the water, the centrifugal clutch would continue it's slipping, trying to get a grip on the propeller. That means you would burn your clutch.

By the way 4-strokes cannot be used upside down or in too many other directions for that matter not only because of the location of the oil pump but also because the oil pan or sump if your english is located on the bottom of the engine.
